lol it’s the same with everything
The workaround is to order only the Colesworth branded stuff and in bulk; bonus points if you check the store you're ordering from in advance to ensure they can't meet your order total; they will refund the product at 100 cents on the dollar. Did that and managed to order $20 worth of groceries for like $5 inc delivery and etc fees 😎
Can you use it at both Woolies and Coles?
Yes but I find the Coles one to be easier as they let you choose the refund option.
Gouged?
Gauged to be in their favour :P
Gorged?
Yeah I’ve had this promo for ages in my account, by the time you take into account the mark up, no discounts being offered and service fees it’s barely worth the effort of being told wasn’t available , or being charged for a $2 bag you don’t ask for lol

I did that the first time, ordered 1kg bacon for $10, got a branded 250g bacon for $10, and they said at uber it was a like for like swap … anyway I won’t keep going on …. Would be better if uber paid woolies to pack it so the drivers don’t get involved or take my flybuys
For each item, you can specify what should be done if the item is unavailable: (1) get a similar item at their discretion (this is the default option, which I'm guessing was your case), (2) get another specific item or (3) refund.
Better off with Coles and set it to refund instead of replace. I would dispute that and likely chargeback if uber fails to resolve it.
I got a $30 off $40 spend - then looked at the delivery fee. $8.49 in Uber Eats, $1.99 on Doordash.
Did they just jack up the delivery price because I had a promo 🤣
Delivery fee should be free if you have Uber One
Yeah but I don't have Uber One lol.
If you have CommBank, there's a 6 month free trial of uber one. Check Yello.
@TEER3X: Thanks, I'll check it out - btw you probably just summoned ilovefullprice lol
Not sure why your delivery fee is so high. Mine is $0 + $3.70 service fee
I'll have a look later on, could've just been some sort of surge pricing at the time
Might see if there's a nearby IGA too.
So update if anyone's interested despite having a closer Coles open and on Uber eats, it prefilled to one further away from the home page. Had to go into grocery and then click Coles to display the closer Coles (still $4.99 though?)
Ordering deliveries from Coles/woolies/ even IGA use to be fantastic which prices were equal. I would sometimes get $20/40 off with a $50/100 spend at IGA.
Nowadays anyone who orders groceries from this company needs their head read
considering prices are typically only ~10-20% higher on uber (sometimes not at all), you are still saving ~30%, and delivered to your door. That's a win in my book.

You can still end up saving a decent amount with this discount, but it's not as much as it would seem at fave value.
Not sure what people are complaining about, just ordered 2 boxes of 460g salmon and a bunch of bananas for $22 delivered, where else can you get that sort of price?
Yeah always whingers. I've used this deal (similar) a few times in the past.
I’ve done it 3 times and had to write complaints to get refunds twice, and was charged for expensive reusable bags (the $2.95 ones) the other time and got a wrong product . It’s a horrible service. Plsd you’ve been a lucky one
I got charged $20 for a really expensive bag. I didn't order it, but they let me keep it and refunded me. I don't think any malice was involved.
Wrong product should be refunded instantly upon submitting complaint (just few clicks on the app) and you get to keep the wrong item too (if it's useful at all)
Many people still don't know how to get the most out of this deal unfortunately. I can easily get cheese and meat (or any items that rarely discounted) for considerably cheaper price.
I shouldn’t have to play a game to get the most out of it, do you not see that? Everyone is telling me how to appease the absolute appalling product being offered … “just buy coles brand never on sale” “you should get an immediate refund” “there was no malice” it’s a terrible terrible product . I’m being told … it’s garbage but if you do this you can make a profit .
I shouldn’t have to play a game to get the most out of it
Umm yeah nah. The way I see it big corps don't owe us anything. And OzB is all about playing that "game".
I mean you do you - you're not required to play the game if you don't want to, but since you shared bad experience in a forum where people are crazy about the "game", then it's only natural for people to share their experience in response to yours.
@foxes28: It might feel good
It might sound a lil' somethin'
But damn the game
If it don't mean nuttin'
What is game who got game
Little tip - if items are out of stock, and your order comes to $20, it's basically free :) you'll only pay for the service fee for the remaining items.
So when accepting/declining substitute items, try to keep your order at $20 to maximise using the whole voucher amount. Can you request to have your flybuys added to these orders?
No, I think that's a bonus for the Uber drivers
Sure, request all you want.
You can ask, but they also can say no. There is no requirement from Uber for driver to accept your request.
How come I didn't get this deal?
Because you weren't targeted (same like me).
Our society has gone mad indeed.
Buying overpriced goods from big supermarkets via food delivery system, wow.It is safe to assume that nobody is checking the fees haha
Food delivery service fee, delivery fee, the service fee on top of the product price because nothing is free, not to mention those who pay extra to receive the order faster. The $20 off at the end will be more like $5 off depending where you live and the time of ordering/peak hour.
Be smarter people, stop burning your own money.Buying overpriced goods
Yeah in case you forget this is OzBargain
I did this comparison back then a while ago and you can easily save $10 + free delivery. Even more if you pay with discounted GC.
I just use it to buy the coles brand nappies $11.50. The mark up on the uber eats app is only $1.15 (12.65). I typically get 3 packs of nappies and another small item to meet the $40 criteria. A few times they only had one pack of nappies in stock and I got a refund for the other two. This mean I got a pack of nappies and a small item for a few dollars after the refund.
I suspect the mark-up percentage is the same for every product. 10%.
So it makes sense to buy stuff that doesn't go on sale, Coles brand, etc.
The real world discount from using the $20 off $40 I get is about 28% off after all fees and I don't have to go and get the items myself. Excellent for a small shop.
Are there any Uber one deals besides the commbank ones? Mines expired now.
I got an email from UE about this deal but strangely when I check my app, I don’t see the banner for this deal but instead I see the banner for $0 grocery delivery fees deal.
Not sure if this is a one time use Voucher ..Can someone confirm ?
Ordered items from Coles for $30+ after discount and then realized out of eggs, tomatoes.. (order still not delivered)
Checked woolies and the Voucher was still showing up, so placed order for $25 after discount ..to my surprise all the items were in stock and delivered and saved me 30+ overall
Maybe this is a hack or I just got lucky .. YMMV :-)
It's been known for a while you can often place multiple orders with a one time use coupon. You just have to also check the final price paid after submitting the order
Just have to do it quickly/ schedule multiple orders
Any idea when this expires? Can't find it in the terms on my app
Got an email today for this promotion, placed an order +-$25 final price (after discount).
Apparently no long life milk was in stock, order before discount dropped below $40. Discount code removed and charged full price for all items…
Ended up paying $42 for $36 items from Coles.I've used this deal in the past, but never had promo code removed. There's also no option to cancel your order when this happens, so basically your gambling with the person that's picking your items.
I willing to bet if I go in store now, the item will be on the shelf.
The prices in coles has been guaged in Ubereats.
