  • Anyone used one on a pram? Suggestions for holder?

    How long does it last?

  • +5

These are really noisy. Don't think I can use it without headphones in, definitely couldn't use it in an office. Personally don't really like it even though they seem really popular.

    • Yeah i agree - i returned mine the same day i got them the last time they were on sale - way too noisy for my liking!

    • Almost the same noise level as my old hair drier lol

  • +1

What is the point of these? Just seems impractical and it’d end up annoying everyone near you

    • -3

Yeah I really don't get it. People walk around holding a fan in their face? Really?

      • +6

People walk around holding a fan in their face? Really?

I think you never been to Japan or Hong Kong during summer, hot and high humidity is very difference from here.

          • +2

            @PainToad:

But I really can't imagine people in an advanced developed country like Jape

Depends on which area you go, back from Fuji a weeks ago, so hot and humid and no indoor aircon, Hong Kong even more humid.

          • +4

@PainToad: With all your comments about air conditioners in all these posts, I'd swear you were raised by one

          • @PainToad: In the Japan, the construction workers use special jackets with built-in cooling fan. The batteries could last up to the entire work day. The trend has caught on and now more people are using it now. Pablofromtokyo recently covered this in his Youtube video.

            • @Davesday:

use special jackets with built-in cooling fan

              Saw that during last visit.

          • +4

@PainToad: Soo, your suggestion is for people to walk around holding portable aircon?

    • +2

Not sure why I’m getting negs. Ive genuinely never encountered these used. But apparently big for humid Asian countries.

      • I've used it at home.

just because it has a handle doesn't mean you have to hold it. I've placed it on the table and directed to my face.

        Cheaper than aircon

    • To blow you, loudly.

      • +1

Spoke to my partner and apparently very useful for hot humid environments. I suppose that’s why not as popular in Aus.

Anyway, bought one as the ozbargain in me couldn’t resist

        • -2

Are buses, trains, shops, houses etc. not air conditioned there or something?

        • +2

Another reason is for infants and toddlers. They can't tolerate heat as much as adults to and the extra fan noise helps as white noise to soothe them. Also helps with cooling food.

    • +1

I use it for travel when I’m in Thailand or Malaysia

    • +1

I use a similar fan on the train. I'm one of those really sweaty guys.

    • Very useful for going out on hot days for me. We're talking about zoo visits, festivals, playgrounds, outdoor events where there is no air con.

  • +2

Thanks OP got one. Really wish I had one of these travelling through Korea and HK last month

    • Can you explain use case? Is it just for outdoors in hot weather/humid environment?

      • +5

        Underwater cave expedition

      • +1

You asked a fair question and are getting negged, I don't get it. I find it peculiar also, especially given how apparently loud they are.
I guess people get irrationally defensive just to protect 'their product'. Happens to anything OXO also.

        • +1

Not sure about this product but some of the portable fans I’ve seen have adjustable PWM fans with hydro bearings so they run pretty silent.

I guess the demand is so great that Jisulife actually created one with Power Delivery fast charging. I hope they implement LCP fan blades like Noctua lmao!

        • -3

I didn't downvote because I can't be bothered, but the OP just seems… Thick, worthy of a downvote.

At the end of the day, its a fan. Do they not know how a fan works? You can use it however you want - hold it outside, or use it indoors, put it on your work table and have it directed to your face etc.

          • @smartProverble: The OP, or you mean a commenter?

          • @smartProverble: Obviously I know what a fan is. But this is ozbargain. I'm asking why it's getting such a strong reception, as people ask on countless deals.

which part of body hair you are trying to blow?

    • This.

  • +3

don't expect too much for the quality, mine was dead after 2 months with less than 1 hour used in total I was lucky bought the unit from Amazon as they refunded it straight away, would be a different story if I bought it from Ali / Ebay

    • +2

Ali is great with warranty you just need to raise several cases, return it to china and accept only a 30% refund.

    • claimed warranty!?

    • +1

Mines been going strong after 6 months and I use it 3-4 days a week

      • They certainly look and feel well made from looking at the one I got for mum. Time will tell I suppose.

  • These are great , super loud but work

  • +4

I got one from the last deal. It is not very pleasant to use, very noisy and has average airflow. It is not very powerful compared to the noise it produces. I wouldn't buy it again.

  • +1

Can anyone recommend a belt fan that blows up your shirt back?

  • This again!? how good is it please comment from last prime deal

    • What do you want to use it for ?

    • It’s very gooood…

    • It's not super quiet, haven't used it at all as it's been quite dry (therefore cool). Bought another one for xmas gift. People with diabetes and whatnot would appreciate this.

  • any recommendation for a similar handheld fan but quieter?

  • For anyone ask how good this is? I have no idea, I only order it today.

For anyone ask what is it use for? Other than blowing wind on yourself, it's useful if you need to cool down food quickly for young kids.

I got a bigger one that has a stand to do that at home, want to get one for travel.

    • +2

Don’t forget good for lighting charcoal as well

  • +1

    Coupon gone?

    • I couldn't find it either

  • +1

I have one of these and the pro versions and I love it. Comes in handy at places like festivals, concerts, sporting events and also to cool down some food that came straight out of the oven.

Yes it can get loud when you put it on high levels but at most places the noise level doesn't matter. My friends were laughing at me when I showed them the fan before a concert, but they sure asked me to borrow it when we were inside.

  • Dont have the coupon :( Lightning Deal
    $17.99

  • Any recommendation for a fan for travelling asia?

  • had to return my $17.99 from a few days ago and then bought this one $11.99 as Amazon wouldn't refund the difference

    • A fair bit of hassle for $6 don't you think?

      • not at all

just go to post office on the way and stick a label on done

        • I've been known to go out of my way a bit to save a few $, thought this was maybe too much hassle.

          • +1

@ozhunter68: I guess everyone is different

            • @Poor Ass: True, but am always willing to learn new ways to save $ when I can.

I sometimes take the easy/lazy way out, then other times go all the

way around the blocks for $1 lol.

  • +2

I'm a huge fan of this fan

    • A fan man huh

  • Got one, Thanks OP

  • this is the Only Fan i will need on my next trip :P

  • -5

These really aren't personal fans, Its more for dust blowing etc.

If your going to be walking around get a much weaker fan.

    • -1

      ummm no

      • Ive got this fan, its stupidly loud.
Like you can buy proper fans that sit on your neck that nicely blow air.

To hear somebody next to you with this whiring fan is so annoying i ended up stop using it.

  • +1

Agree with the others, these are super useful when traveling. I went to Japan right in the middle of summer, and only had two fans between the four of us, not enough. Also used them heaps in Shanghai summer, Philippines, Singapore. Really good when you're walking and sight seeing a lot. Not much use back home as we drive to most places. As soon as walk is involved, it's really good to have them handy so when the kids complain they're too hot and can't walk, I give them the fan and they'll just have to keep walkin'.

  • +2

i got fan jacket, i thought it is a joke, but now i wear this on site everyday……..it is legit good.
