Hisense PX3 TriChroma 4K Laser Cinema Series Projector & $200 Gift Card $2980 (RRP $4499) + Delivery ($0 QLD C&C) @ VideoPro

120

I was looking to buy PX2 pro, but decided to go with this one since it's this year's model. Purchased this with click and collect from Newstead store and I am very happy with it.They sent me a $200 videopro gift card after pickup.

Not sure about the RRP on Hisense web page. I believe regular price will be more like $3995. Jb Hifi and BingLee also has this on sale for $2995.

There's 3 different versions of this projector. Australian version doesn't have 3D support and the brightness is 2800 ANSI lumens.

Australian version doesn't have 3D support and the brightness is 2800 ANSI lumens.

Why do Hisense keep shafting us? They did that with their LED models which were inferior to the US ones, but had the same model numbers. Making online reviews close to useless.

    • Yeah on my LG HU70LG the OS doesn't work it's gimped on the AUS version, so have to use firestick. Got it cheap last black friday sales so can't complain.

    • TCL doesn't do this nerfing for different markets right?

Money…they effectively are doing a bait and switch by using the same branding for different models.

I will never buy a Hisense device since looking at these projectors where I initially had a positive impression of them as being pretty good.

  • Was looking forward to px3 pro but not available in Oz. Wondering if I should get it from US instead, wary of warranty/ support concerns.

The price is around $3,500 USD in the US, and I wouldn't pay that much just for the addition of 3D and 3000 ANSI Lumens. For my needs, the specs are good enough without those extras.

      • Yeah that makes sense, are these the only differences? US one could be a lot cheaper on Black Friday sales though

I believe the other difference is the OS, they use something called VIDAA, and it's google tv in US.

And yeah Black friday is a bigger thing in US.

"TriChroma" sounds like an eye disease.

  • Can anyone comment on these? Will it do a decent job projecting onto a wall in a not totally dark room?

    • +1

Will look decent to a projector newbie if not much ambient light but you wont be getting the best out of your projector investment if you dont use a proper UST screen. See a full explanation on that at https://darkenergyscreens.com.au

    • I will convert the basement to a movie room, there won't be too much ambient light and planning to project to a wall for now.

I projected it onto a unsuitable wall with lots of damages etc and it's really good especially when it's dark.

I think I would get a screen if there's too much ambient light in the room.

  • How good is this compare to Samsung SPLSP7TFA?

    https://www.videopro.com.au/product/samsung-the-premiere-las…

    • Samsung is single laser, hisense is triple laser with higher lumen count

  • how does this compare to L9H assuming you want the 120" size?
