6%. Bulk gouges.
Would have been funny if it was free pizza.
The ‘pizza party’ memes would have written themselves.
OzBargain loves the price gouging though, look at the upvotes they get each week when somebody posts the catalogue as a bargain.
Support your duopoly now! We'll buy you off at glance!
People tout the savings from aldi, and i shop at aldi, but then aldi model achieves cheaper prices by less variety and carrying fewer items, get to brand names and they are similar prices across the board. People seem to be caught up in cost of living being caused by supermarkets rather than the cost of housing and the government has done a good job on moving the focus to supermarkets rather than costs of houses and interest rates. you probably have more choices what brand of baked beans you buy, and who has them on special to save money than you do how much rent rent you pay or the interest on a mortgage.
You really need to break your sentences up, otherwise it is difficult to read.
Are you saying, the cost of living crisis was created by peoples own shopping habits? TLDR
Whilst hard to read, the point being made seemed pretty clear to me.
Their point is the government is using the grocery chains as a distraction tactic to try and take attention away from the bigger problem that is the housing crisis.
It’s a good point.
The government could solve the housing crisis with potentially political risky solutions but the government is too gutless. So instead they are trying to turn attention and hate to the grocery stores.
Which is really disingenuous because grocery store pricing has been an issue simmering for decades and multiple governments haven’t done what’s required (giving the ACCC actual real power).
Should learn from Singapore Government on how they manage this issue on such small island. Start from property ownership.
Many of AU parliament members include PM have properties … Maybe conflict of interest. Even not long time ago the PM bought a house in Central Coast worth >$4 m.
Thanks for breaking that down, totally not what it seemed to be.
Do you think that the government wants you to be rich? That would solve the problem and make the onus be on you.
Do you think that the government wants you to be rich?
With the amount of tax I have to pay, it would appear not.
That would solve the problem and make the onus be on you.
To really solve the problem you need population growth that doesn’t out pace the availability of housing (road infrastructure, schools, hospitals etc.). Besides from not pumping out a heap of kids, not much I can do to solve the problem.
Exactly
And the government wants supermarkets to lower prices without affecting suppliers. It’s all a crock. Once the election is over, so will the beating up of supermarkets
All the Woolies/Coles hate people seem to have aside, the new burger range is actually pretty good.
We got the smash burgers the other day and they were great! IMO pretty close to takeaway quality
Who in their right mind is going to eat 1000 burgers???
They want to give these burgers to 1000 people there as part of promotion.
Dave is correct, when i first saw this post, i thought, who would market such an idea without putting the word challenge in the text. Then on reading the link it is: “Burger lovers can get their hands on one of 1000 free burgers each day from Thursday October 17 to Saturday October 19.”
The post title and description should read 1 of 1000.
Did anyone go today?
I am going to try tomorrow if I can.
Yes, and it was very good.
An amazing promo as now feel like they are worth buying to try at home.
Thanks. I did go to get my burger. It was good.
Just stumbled upon this today. Excellent burgers. Hipster style but a very good and generous serving.
Oh, yeah, this makes up for price gouging
