iPhone SE 2022 64GB $529 Delivered @ Telstra

200

Telstra has got the iPhone SE 2022 for $529 for the 64GB (RRP $719). Doesn't state if it locked or not. It will be interesting if Officeworks can price beat it.

Personally, the phone is getting long in the tooth. However, it will be a sufficient upgrade for someone still rocking an old iPhone (such as a iPhone 7) & wanting to retain the home button.

The prepaid iPhone SE is locked to Telstra.

    • Thanks for clarifying. Would a Telstra mvno SIM work such as Boost? I know some phones are locked to Telstra, can still accept SIM like Boost. However, it won't work for any Optus or Vodafone SIM.

      • Did anyone answer this? Apparently Boost works with all non iPhone Telstra locked phones but unsure whether iPhone.

Really?? I thought iPhones were never carrier locked? Ffs.

      • This one was just added in product lineup few weeks ago.
First locked iPhone after iPhone 6.

      • Subsidised / prepaid phones are locked, that's why they're "cheaper" than RRP.
Full price are generally not locked (or would be unlocked for free)

Ozb brains trust seems to suggest otherwise.

Why would anyone in their right mind buy this POC.

    • +7

Few reasons. It's the cheapest brand new iPhone you can buy, some people won't let go of the home button. Additionally, if you manage a fleet of phone, you want to get the most cheapest option for your staff (if they require an iOS device).

Yes there are better options out there I'm not disagreeing with you there for a second. However, with the use cases that I've provided, are some of the reason why the SE3 still sells to this day.

Also good if yoi still want a smallish phone.
I've got teenagers in the house one is using an iPhone 14 the other doesn’t want to let go of her SE because of the size.

Panic Over Chargers? Fear not - there are plenty of deals on chargers.

    • its great to buy for employees who need a work phone.

  • Parent’s SE 1st gen on it’s last legs.
Had been meaning to get officeworks price-beat Telstra’s outright price of $619 for this phone.
This looks like a better option since on Boost. Thanks.

    • How do you know it is on boost? Are all Telstra prepaid boost?

      • +1

Phone locked to Telstra network. Is intended for Telstra Pre-Paid.
But was just saying will work on Boost even though might be network locked.

        • Did it work? Heard contradicting stories on whether Boost works with iPhone Telstra locked devices

Not 3rd gen ones, though. Only 2nd gen for that price. Cheapest 3rd gen I see on FB is $350 (though it's 128GB).

      • +1

If you check constant and get in quick you can get for $150 even

It holds a better depreciation value than iPhone 14 and 15

    • -5

Because no Ay Eye. SE buyers, what is Ay Eye thus less depreciation?
