I wouldn't recommend ordering anything directly from Samsung, their return process is a nightmare

In the last years, I didn't like to order from Samsung website. Delivery took ages.

Last month, I purchaed my wife's phone with trade in. Surprisingly, it was delivered in 2 days. Also, the trade in process was easier than before. I guess that many people complained and their service got better now?

Agreed - bought a TV that came damaged. Took over 3 months before I finally got a refund. Would never recommend ordering directly from Samsung.

$200 trade in (can be any monitor and/or broken)

I wonder how these companies "make money" with trade-ins.

Surely, that second-hand monitor may not even fetch $150 in the second-hand market,
but Samsung wants to incentivize buying an $999 OLED monitor?

    • +2

It's not really a trade in to make money. It's more about disposing it for you. I bought the G8 last week. Trading a friend's 15' monitor. Easy $200 off

I think it's government funded electronics recycling. I can't think of any other way for them to be operating

    • +1

The product cost is super low, plus they can recycle the parts, and when they scrap these, they will receive some kind of recycle credit from the government

Cant trade in from my postcode (in melbourne)

Melbourne code (3000) doesnt work either

It has a matte screen if anyone is wondering.

  • I ordered its big brother (G8: 32” UHD) last week. Awaiting delivery.
Was able to get a further 10% loyalty discount voucher by talking to a Samsung rep on their hotline. Wonder if similar loyalty discount is available for this deal.

    • How much bru?

      • Should be about $11xx. That's what I paid. Getting mine first week of Nov. Can't wait. Time to hunt for a good arm.

      • It cost $1110.64 after the promotion ($500 off) + 10% loyalty voucher + 5% first time app user discount + trade in ($200 off).

    • could you please share where to call them, I used to just email loyalty team, but this time around there's no response

      • I called them on 02 8293 5712. Took the option for Sales or New Order or something along those lines.

    pretty cheap for this panel

I just contacted a "Samsung expert" on the live chat on the site and they told me the warranty does NOT cover burn-in….

I guess you can't accept Apple level of service when not paying Apple prices. A similar monitor with an Apple logo would cost $1899. The stand will be extra coming in silver or black for $699.99. The power adapter will be $79.99 and the monitor cable also in silver or black will be an extra $49.99. Apple care with burn in protection will be an extra $12.99 a month subscription. As you can see, the price of the Apple monitor stand alone covers your burn in return cost for Apple. Applaud Samsung for bringing in OLED QHD monitors below $800, next stop that will be a game changer, 4K 32" OLED High Refresh Rate for sub $900.

      • The same panel used here has 3 years burn in warranty from other manufacturers using it, samsung is just notorious for being crap about consumer rights. 360hz oled has been 900 before (refurb but full 3 yr burn in warranty). 480hz 1440p is coming out now so a lot of these are probably just being cleared out now.

    • +1

The warranty does not cover abnormal use resulting in burn-in, i.e. a static image being held there with all the standby/eco features being disabled.

If you're using the monitor reasonably, you should have no issues, and if they contest that you're probably covered under the ACL.

This shitty vrr on this was a deal breaker. Can't do it. Even at 300 cheaper then it's competitors.

    • Is it this monitor or panel? I have the AW2725DF (same panel) and with the included DP cable my screen flickers like crazy. But with my old DP cable, it does not. I switched cables at one point (my old one has a release button which is annoying) and thought I broke my monitor becaue greys were flickering like crazy. Turns out the included DP is dogshit.

  • It was listed in the ratings.com review of it. Might be fixed via a patch but haven't heard anything.
