cant stack with shopback etc cashback as the website address is www.expedia.com.au/amexoffers

Edit: I usually use 28D or Westpac for an instant 10% off these days…unless Shopback is at 14.5%

    • On the checkout page however, it is just the usual expedia website so I wonder if it is just a landing page. I doubt Amex knows whether you clicked through the link or not. Happy to be corrected but

      • I think for hotels and flights, Amex has more details than just the merchant and amount. It is usually printed on the statement. (For example, their recent deal for Qantas flights to America)

        • +1

That would be because Qantas provided that level of detail. I have booked through Expedia before and it usually just says EXPEDIA AU etc…

    • Well that's sad.

  • I can’t seem to save the offer in App, says unexpected error occurred. Any one else with same issue?

    • I managed to save it.

      Did you try the website?

  • Are hotel rates dearer through the Amex link like when you try booking flights through Amex travel?

    • Sure are.

    • +1

Just booked an Accor hotel via this Amex link. Same price as via the Accor website.

      • I got a better rate on the Accor website as a non member than the price I was getting using my explorer membership. Strange website.

    • Not for me

  • +3

Looks like if I go through google search > Agoda/TripAdvisor = I get the cheapest rates for a lot of the hotels.

  • Good deal if can be used on Expedia’s main website (stack with 10-14% Expedia cashback offers via SB/CR)

Not-so-great deal if has to be booked via the landing page only

  • Amex seems only to be accepted at hotels (rather than people's apartment stays) - bummer

    • For this expedia deal you can use amex for any stay.

Are you looking at amex travel online, where only a very small number of airbnb type places come up when searching?

      • Hm when I looked yesterday for places near St Kilda, the apartment/studio we wanted to stay in accepted only Mastercard and Visa (despite showing up on the expedia.com.au/amexoffers search), whereas the established hotels and hostels accepted Amex on top of it.

        • Likely if your paying at the place/hotel, some wont take amex….. This is a pay now offer and you pay expedia directly

  • Has anyone tried this and successfully gotten a cashback? I.e by clicking from cash rewards then pasting the Amex offers link into that window to do the transaction?
That or stacked any good Expedia promo codes?

    • +1

i did but no sign of cashback…

      • Ditto. I got a 16.5 Shopback promo so prioritised that with the hope Amex might work. But no luck!

  • I booked via expedia.com.au I totally made a mistake without booking via the expedia amex offer site. It appears on my statement only expediaau.. Is there any differences between the 2 websites when it appears on the statement? Sadly I chosen non-refundable options….
Careless me.. I called them they said credit can take upto 15 days of purchase or 90 days after offer ends….

    • I did the same, followed the instruction and no credits still after 15 business days. Called amex and they escalated to their marketing team and still waiting. It seems to be their system issues tracking this saved offer. A few mates of mine made bookings and none of them got 10% back from amex.

Did you have any updates on this? I booked a few with pay now via the amex landing page last week which appears on statement as “EXPEDIAAO*booking numbers but no email saying that I’ve used the offer as they usually have.

        • No mate. You’d raise a case with Amex. Keep us updated too.
