I have a few Fairfield Chronos, but not a simple plain dial with no date. $80 is decent for a quartz beater that will suit different straps and Indiglo is cool. I like the hands and indices.

I don't have any Midtowns but it has a more unique concave dial and date complication (yuck). Smaller at 38mm and probably better quality leather straps, and 5ATM. But is almost double the price of the Fairfield.

These are reasonably priced bauhaus style watches from a reputable brand. I like the blue one but it has a date. I'll prob get the Fairfield for fun because it has Indiglo.

I agree. DWs are fantastic watches and far more accurate with their in-house movements. I buy them because they make me look wealthy (better than a Rolex imo.

Please share some DW watch deals for us poors.

I'm rocking a cheapo chronometer today, gross! I should have brought some of my DWs with me when I went watch shopping.

          • @rosebank: That Fang Bao riot shield sent me down an interesting rabbit hole. I never would have guessed that luxury watch shops would house public riot gear!

Check Aliexpress or DHGate. They have great DW deals ($5 for reps from the same factory that DW use haha)

Lol, there is no sarcasm on the internet.

Reads like a joke and OP's comment history gives some clues.

How is the ticking noise on this model? I had a Timex many years ago, but I had to stop wearing it because the ticking was so loud. I tried keeping it in a drawer while I slept but I could still hear it.

    • I only have the chrono Fairfields which (I'm quite sure) have a second subdial. I also have Qs, GMTs, Snoopy ones and don't notice the ticking. you can always return it if it does tick too loud for your liking; DJs are quite good with their return policy. I've returned "clearance" clothing even though they're supoosed to be no return.

It took a licking but kept on ticking

    • Why are you licking your watches?

  • +1 for the Quartz

This dress watch is not for me, but sure other people like this kind of watch. Simple and minimalist

I’m really digging Timex again. They were THE watch of my youth but then went out of fashion. Now they’re becoming cool again which is really good. Maybe that says more about how old I am, but I guess I’m at the age where I just don’t care any more. Great find OP!

My only complaint is the local Timex AD doesn’t bring much of the range into Australia. The best designs are still found on the Timex web site. I’ve been flirting with getting this one for Mrs C. I’ve also been eyeing off the Pan Am Day Date and GMT models. I also struggle to find a G-Shock that looks good on me but Timex can still scratch the ‘ruggedised’ itch.

    • +1 for Nice design and quartz for the watches. Only Expedition Rugged Core has reasonable price match with its spec and nice design. The rest are overprice for the spec in my opinion. Quartz, 50 m, mineral glass for $310 or quartz and mineral glass for $500 the GMT price, lol.

  • Thanks, got the midtown in white. Hope the ticking isn't too loud in the bedroom at night.

  • I like the ticking, it’s relaxing to me

  • Needs blue hands and I'm sold
