And $68 is a good price??

    • +2

      For a Lacoste polo, yes

    • Yes. Near half price.
These feel and fit great. And last.

    • +4

      69 would be nice

    • I’ve kept half an eye on their sale pricing over the years since I think they make good quality polos (i had one for years), and this price is the lowest it ever gets to. It is basically the default sale price whether it’s storewide 30% after Xmas sale, some other sale, cash back, etc. Always around the $70 mark.

I’ve had a couple of Hollister polos I bought in the US literally in 2009 when I was there and they still look fine, aren’t stretched and fit well, and I wear them here and there. I used to wear them more including when riding to work. Anyway looking at their website now, they are probably completely different now. (That’s a gripe I have with clothing manufacturers, they always change their products so if you find one you like and wanna buy it in a years’ time, forget it.)

  • +3

Still pricey, right! But I've worn cheap ones and the fit is no good, and the fabric pills quickly, and they shrink. Even Charles Tyrwhitt polos are $75 in multipack buy.

  • +25

dont worry guys these are magic polos that dont get old after you wear and wash them. they come from a top secret magic factory not in india or china. totally worth rrp. source: trust me bro

    • +2

      Cheers bought two

      • -3

Wow really? I dont normally spend this much on clothe but it sounds like they are worth it as a 'buy it for life kind of product. I just bought1 and will see how it go.

        • +2

That was sarcasm, not sure if yours is though?

          • @Ez: Which comment was sarcasm

            • +8

@soaringphoenix: Saying they're good quality and come from a magic factory.
Meaning these are shit, and you're paying for the logo

        • +2

It is not buy it for life

    • +6

I have been wearing my for 2 years they look even better than brand new. Fits perfectly to the contours of my body. I gain heaps more confidence when I wear it at work. If it wasn’t have wfh I would never take it off.

      • +7

The only thing I gained in the past 2 years is weight.

  • +10

Does anyone think its cray we are essentially advertisements for brands and pay a premium for the privilege to do so. Maybe I had too maybe sunday avro "clarity" beers.

    • +2

Could always just go Kmart or Uniqlo

    • +1

Isn’t that the same with the swoosh on all the shoes and caps?

      • +4

Of course. DId he say otherwise.

Essentially it's all logos that we wear or use. Even cars.

    • -1

I've heard this POV before but after thinking about it I've never seen someone wear anything and thought to myself I need to get that too. If anything I subconsciously avoid it. Nothing worse than being seen in the same branded outfit as another person.

    • +1

Some brands actually use different material, etc, one example from my own experience is Adidas.

For example, their tri-foil t-shirt has a thicker material and a different looking stitch, others have thicker material and different stitching.

Like my adidas shirts have stripes and branding STITCHED in and not just painted on and are made of pure cotton.

But yeah if it's a regular shirt with gucci printed on and you're paying $1200 for it, you're getting ripped off.

The branding is supposed to advertise the quality of clothing, but it does get messed up, especially in modern times.

    • Fuzzy duck took some funny stuff
And we all say Fuzzy, take care!

  • +12

Bought 2 last time, they feel very cheap. Don't waste your money

    • +4

2nd this - also got two last time. The quality is average.. go to Uniqlo

    • +2

Yeah lacoste quality went downhill a couple of years ago. I still wear the polos I bought around 2006-2010, while the ones I bought recently shrink after every wash. And they do feel cheaper, thinner. Both 2-button and 3-button ones.

  • +5

Is this what we are suppose to wear at coldplay concert ?

    • +2

      And Oasis 🤮

      • +1

Oasis is Fred Perry I believe

        • Stone Island

      • +1

        You don't like oasis?

And thanks for the reminder, presales today

    • And the office.

  • How's the fit? Sort of tailored fit or loose?

    Can't decide XL or XXL.

    • +1

I take xxl for most tshirts and xxl for these too.

  • Quality is still good. I bought one before. Something around $50

  • Too expansive mate… $10 max in SEA…

    • they're not big at all

  • Bought a few when this prime sale started, assumed it was already posted as a deal.

  • +1

FWIW these are my go to polo, as they seem to last much better than others (less fade and shrink over time)

    • +1

Comments below suggest getting a suze up due to shrinkage.

  • +3

Lacoste polos always shrink lengthwise, will never buy again.

    • +1

I've always ended up grabbing a larger size to account for the shrinkage.

      • There was significant shrinkage

** I mostly wear Nike, Adidas and Under Armor polo shirts. Keep on trend (different colour combos) and they last for years. Although Nike's quality isn't what it was 15 years ago :-/

    • +1

I agree I have 2 and both are ridiculously short.

  • Lacoste polo better or worse than Polo Ralph Lauren polo? I have PRL and it has shrunk and cannot wear any of them.

    • +2

RL seems to cost more and the collar seems to hold its shape longer after wash.

    • +2

Lacoste is not an equal rival to Ralph Lauren. It is above Tommy Hilfiger but merely below Ralph Lauren.

  • +3

These are not what they used to be (~10 years ago).

Legit you’re better off getting Uniqlo.

    • Put it this way. Lacoste have shut down all their full price boutiques in Melbourne, leaving only DFOs and Myers/DJs. So its either discounted/lower quality range at DFOs, or a pretty small range at the department stores. They are no longer competitive at RRP.

  • +2

They're crap nowadays. The hem falls apart after a year. Don't waste your money.

  • Last year this time (October) I bought it for $59 when RRP was $105

  • +1

Too bad they sent me a t-shirt instead of a polo lol

  • $67.99 seems quite expensive, and I’m guessing they weren’t moving any at the ridiculous original price 🤣

  • I love the Uniqlo ones. Great quality.

  • Excuse me sir, this is a bargain website
    - jv, probably

  • I purchased some rip off ones in Vietnam for $15. They are super comfy. I will feel more wealthy when I wear them now that I know the RRP of real ones.

    • are you me Jim ;)

  • I add XXL and XXS is in cart. Tried multiple colours. Can't take the risk of getting wrong size sent.

    • You’ve got this 🙄

  • +3

I gottta say this.Lacoste polos seem shit now. I used to have a polo 10 years ago that I paid like $30 for (RRP was $70 back then). Wore it around the house cause I thought Lacoste shirts werent cool then. Last ages until I stained it. No wear or tear.

The last two I got for ~$55 each around a year ago and they feel thinner. They look fine, but they feel cheaper. They get even thinner quickly after too much washing and the sizes even ran smaller. It's actually insane, I'm almost convinced they weren't worth 1/3 of what I paid.

I feel like I'm going insane that a company can not only engage in price gouging AND reduce costs of materials ot the point that they dont feel differentiatable to cheap warehouse clothing. It's actually crazy. The state of the world is mental.

    • Most labels have jumped on the Fast Fashion band wagon. Clothes are made on the assumption that they will be thrown away after a couple of years / washes, so companies cut corners by using cheaper material and poor construction.

    • That what I got too. After just a few washing and the shirt downsize dramatically…

    • That’s a shame mate. I decided to buy one and see, hasn’t arrived yet. But I agree on the decline of quality being common across the industry. I do almost all my shopping online, so I tend to find out when the product arrives, but it’s a shame when you find something good, buy it again years later, and it’s crap.

Have you seen the vid where they weigh jeans from the 90s and now? Fast fashion and cost-cutting are having their way.

      • +1

Got mine today, it was ok, better than superdry, but prob about same as rodd and gunn

        • Yep, just got mine too.

Not impressed. Doesn’t have near the quality fabric as an op-shop PRL I have, and I prefer my Charles Tyrwhitt as well

  • paying a lot for the brand. Some other 100% cotton shirts are as low as $25
