deal has been ozbargained, PRICE has been updated to @$101.95

.

I have seen a couple deals for trimmers today and in my opinion this is a much better trimmer at a great affordable cost

This is great price for the Philips norelco 7000 series @ $81.98

You can't find the normal 7000 series at this price from Australia

Great trimmer for all body parts, even if you want to cut your a hair or down there. Mainly great if you have a beard though

I bought this a while ago and was faulty in a month or so. I'm not sure if connecting it to our 240v caused the problem but it stopped working. Amazon were good on returning it. But just raising awareness. Not sure if anyone has an experience more positive.

I've had the normal 7000 series for a year and a half now and it has been great. However, I have heard of some people receiving defective units though

      • Was yours from US or the Aussie variant?
Mine was specifically this model which is what concerned me.

        • +11

It shouldn't affect as new chargers are USB based and you can use a local charger.

      • +4

I had the aus one years ago and it stopped charging right out of warranty, bought the cheaper one and the battery lasts half hour. Might buy this as it's like $50 cheaper than aus version.

    • +2

I've had two die and up to my 3rd, each time amazon replaced, the first two lasted a year and just stopped working and wouldn't charge. The 3rd one has been going for 2 years now.

    • I got one from ebay US, which also stopped working after a couple of months

Feel like shavers are the eneloops of 2024

Bought series 5000 from JB a month for same price 😭. This looks like updated version.

Wow Norelco is still around?? Didn't they start co-branding Philips/Norelco in the US like 25 years ago? Is Philips still not known after all this time, that they still have to co-brand…

    • These are the US model, so that's why they mention Norelco. The local model is purely Philips, but is currently $20 more, so not in the deal.

      • There is a difference, this norelco model is made out of stainless steel while the aus model is plastic. I can't see any other differences though

    6 year warranty
I was hoping the 23 piece series 9000 one would drop to around $110 but looks like it won't

  • How does this compare to the 9000 model?

    • +4

According to the review on ShaverCheck

Here are the three main differences between it and the 9000:

      • The Multigroom 9000 has a larger battery (6 vs 5 hours)
      • The Multigroom 7000 doesn’t include the Body Shaver attachment
      • The old generation Multigroom 7000 can be operated cordless&corded
    • I have gone through several shavers and the 9000 is perfect. The adjustable metal guard is the best thing ever. No more need to carry a bag full of attachments for different hair lengths, and the battery and build quality are excellent

The 9000 is also much cheaper on Amazon US than what you can get it for here in Australia. Will just need a standard au Phillips charger for it to work!

7.5 years into owning an older version of this and it still hasn’t missed a beat. Did a recent 3 month stint away for work and it didn’t need charging the whole time. Lazy and only oiled it maybe 3-4 times and still cuts great.

  • How much power does the wall adapter need to be for the USB?

    • probably not much, it’s wireless anyways. I assume the power doesn’t matter as it’s just to charge it

      • I was hoping to use my spare charger (so I don't lose my main phone charger) but I think it's max 15w, might be a bit slow to charge.

        • +1

I’m sure any charger will be fine. These use bugger all power and the battery lasts forever on a charge. Even a slow charger once every few months would be fine

  • Here I am with a 5$ one from Ali

    • A link would be nice.

Hmm. I got a cheap braun one just for beard trimming that isn't great but I can't justify spending $80 on a better one. I've been ozbargaining too long :P

Wish I bought this instead of the Wahl clip n shave.

    • +1

      That's insane

  • +1

    Thanks op, ordered one

    • with the different guards they are alright

  • are these good for face?

    • +1

as in facial hair? yes basically made for it

  • Not scrotum safe

  • +1

I was gonna get the 15:1 $99 one but then saw your post. What’s the benefit of the norelco ones?

    • +1

the normal one is plastic while norelco is stainless steel, there might be other differences as well

      • +1

either way this one is cheaper, delivery will be longer though

  • Can anyone recommend a good shaver (with adjustments) for beard, I feel this is perhaps a bit over the top with all of the attachments I'll never use. Or still worth it

  • +1

Has anyone had any issues with the plastic guards breaking from general use? I've been through multiple 1mm and 2mm guards in the few years I've had mine (previous Shaver Shop deal) and they're $15 a pop now that my extended warranty has finished.

To be fair, Philips was brilliant with the warranty process even with the attachments.

    • +1

my plastic guards have been fine for the year and a half i've owned it. You can probably get guards off of aliexpress for cheap not genuine of course.

      • Interesting, mine would go less than a year most of the time. I purchased my current set and one of the teeth on the 2mm guard snapped whilst I was travelling (despite them being in their own separate compartment).

While I use the guards frequently, I definitely wouldn't say I abuse them by any means. I'll have to check Ali again, I had checked previously but usually the exact model wasn't what I needed (despite some compatibility), or the postage cost killed the advantage given the risk of it not being exact like a OEM guard
