For those on the other philips deal who want a cheap, shower proof body trimmer instead. Reviews seem mixed, I don't know if I'd trust this one with my private parts.

Been using this for about 5 or so years. Does the job. Battery doesn't hold a charge
for long anymore, but I just charge it before use.

Have the old model. Battery is completely broken. Can't trust anything that doesn't use lithium ion nowadays.

  • The damn thing catches skin on private areas without using the attachment. Only had it for 3 months or so.

Stretch your skin. It won't catch.

Why on earth do they have the USB plug like that instead of being able to plug it into any USB c charger… Pass just for that

    • -1

They are all like this now it seems. But is also great as it means you can take them to any country and use it.

      • I'm talking about a USBC receptacle in the body of the shaver so I can use my phone charger and not have to take another charger with me. Eg ES-RM3B-K from panasonic

        • Ahhhh gotcha.. I agree proprietary connections only add frustration

You can always get an adaptor - USB-C to A.

      • That doesn't change the proprietary connector on the other end which means you can only use their cable.

        • True, but it does remove the need for a dedicated charger.

The design of the plug is likely to do with use in wet environments

Not really, you still need a dedicated cable

It's so they can stop including a wall charger (swing then money) and not have to create new products with a different charging connector (USB C would work and can be waterproof)

            • @spaceflight: IMO, A dedicated cable is still easier to carry than a dedicated charger even with an adapter.

              swing then money

Probably is money related - ideally lack of a charger would result in a reduction in price. I would speculate that two pins are probably easier to waterproof than USB-C. I recently got water in my phones charging port and it was an absolute pain to deal with.

As for not getting chargers, I haven't used the chargers that have come with many of my recent devices and have a heap lying around. It would be easy enough to find a suitable charger. I would guess this is reasonably common as i've got friends/family who seem to have a heap of old USB chargers lying around.

  • I’ve had one of these for years and it gets the job done however expect snags and multiple passes to be a frequent occurrence

  • the head is not adjustable, i think that's the problem with it getting caught and stuff. i find it average to use

  • These are awesome for your pubic hair, no cuts or nicks etc
