Hello children! I saw this pop up in my Amazon 'feed' at near the ATL price I paid ($59) nearly 2 years ago. This is for the people who want a bit higher quality clipper than the budget corded ones. I can vouch for the quality of this clipper, it doesn't rip your hair out as it has a double speed turbo mode for harder to cut hair. I never get stray hairs sticking out that didn't cut. Only has 3 guards - one big, one small and one immoveable 0 guard beard trimmer. The twisting dial moves the cutting edge up or down up to 28mm, with the large guard giving effectively the 7 or 8 guard on a static guard clipper.

The twisting dial is very beginner friendly and I am now able to do a half decent fade on my self. But short back and sides is effortless, I can even clip the back of my head.

Cordless so you can cut hair outside in the sun straight onto the grass or wherever you need to. It's also water proof when off to clean the off instantly. Happy shopping, enjoy!

A great product - the length adjustment wheel is a nice feature, as is it being waterproof. Had mine for years and still going strong… just be careful not to drop it with the plastic combs attached though, as they break / bend quite easily. Was able to get replacements from AliExpress thankfully :)

(Edit - Actually mine is a slightly order model without the turbo, but other than that basically the same, just blue and black instead of grey).

    • Thansk for posting this, i did the same. Will check ali for the replacement!

    • Yours wouldn't have the newer battery that is much quicker to charge, lasts longer, and can be used while charging.

Is this good for close stubble look?

    • Good question. Will buy one or the other depending on feedback.

Have corded wahl, and just bought this. Slightly annoying thing with wahl is having to change different size guards. With this, i can just turn the dial to make guard up or down, should be easy (or so I think)

      • I have a Wahl Colour corded. For me too many different bits. And its vibrations are annoying.
I also have 4yo Philips 9000 cordless, previous to this model. Light and convenient. The only negative is that plastic bits break after couple of years. Replacements are cheap on Aliexpress :)

    • I have/had both of these, albeit older models, and found the Philips one more convenient. The only real issue I had with it was that I found the plastic blades a bit flimsy, so much so that one broke and basically made the clippers useless. I now use the Wahl - which I bought as a cheap emergency set while overseas - and find it cuts well. I do miss the Philips roller dial though…though, I had accidentally changed cut length a couple of times while mid cut and had to go shorter than initially intended.

  • 3c cheaper now.

  • If you have an extra $20 to spend i'd recommend this.
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Philips-Norelco-Multigroom-Groomin…

    • That's a groomer/trimmer with a much narrower cutting area. It's usable for an individual but not so great for a family.

  • I got that Xiaomi ceramic blade trimmer for $17 and it's been going strong for a year plus

    • Yeah.

I don't see the point of getting an additional one, when my Xiaomi one's fine too.

I thought this but bought the Phillips and used today. Easily outperforms the Enchen at least 4 times over. Much quicker and even cut. Allows for easy fades.

thank you for your insight mate

I just shave my head bold, and I use enchen as the first stage to get the hair short enough for the foil shaver, and in this task enchen runs circles around corded Wahl it replaced

I'll give philips a go once enchen gives up

        • Ah if you shave all over then the Enchen is probably fine. My Enchen battery died after a few years of good use. Still sort of works and works plugged into USB.

  • How is this for longer beards or growing a longer beard?
Can you get larger combs purchased separately?

      it goes up to 28mm
the 9000 series one goes up to 42mm but is double the price

  • I'm trying to figure out the difference between this and the $10 cheaper Phillips Philips Washable Hair Clipper Series 5000 with 28 Length Settings (0.5-28mm) & 90 min Cordless Use/1hr Charge, HC5630/15 . Obviously a different model but all I can see is that it lacks a turbo mode?

The one you linked is 8hr slow charge and less run time.

I got the one in this thread (1hr fast charge) and used it today. It worked brilliantly and easily out performs my corded Remington, Wahl and cordless Enchen clippers.

The dial is easy to use and removes the need to swap combs. The combs are also rigid compared to others and I think this helps for a more even cut. Turbo mode and comb design helps cut through thick hair without clogging.

      • Missed it anyway - deal ended before I could buy!
