    The corolla of laptops.

It's not stylish, it's not the fastest (compared to its equal priced competitors), it's not the cheapest, doesn't have the best battery life (nor the worste) doesn't have any stand out features.

…but it will outlive you and your family

I think the Tank (T) series used to be that when IBM owned it, but after owning a few Lenovo T series and watching parts of the case break off (my only laptop that ever happened with), they’re now the same as everything else.

Not shit quality, but not good either anymore.

that will be the regular series not the S series (ie T490) the s (slim) version is like a yaris

    • The corolla of laptops.

Does this include the GR Corolla? :)

These old machines are slowly approaching new laptop prices. Need these around $200

Especially if you can claim GST on Trs…

Look, I agree this is worth closer to $375, but show me where you can find a usable new Windows laptop at the $475 mark?

  • Integrated camera on the Thinkpads are terrible in my experience.

    • +4

In my experience they are more than good enough for their intended purpose.

If you're buying a laptop because of the integrated camera quality, you're doing it wrong.

No the cameras on this vintage of Thinkpad were awful even at launch. I feel like if you used it for a video interview it would prevent you from getting the job

I disagree. I video call daily.

The T14 and P14 gen 1 cameras are terrible. Blurry and pixelated. I always had issues with video calls for work.

        • -2

If you failed a video interview and are blaming it on the camera quality, I think you need to self reflect a little more.

    • I have a yoga 370, t490s, and an x1 carbon, and they are all more than fine.

  • What's the tbolt USB c video out like? Does it do 4k/60/HDR over that, or does it just mirror what the HDMI 1.4 port does ?

  • What is the battery WH?

  • Bought 1x laptop and 1x desktop from Max Direct last time. Great experience and very tidy machines. Love them 👌

Still using a T470s and it's going strong

    Their grading is pretty risky

    Grade A
Battery Life: Maintains 70% to 100% charge, showing minimal degradation.
