    you're pay $35 for.what now?

    • For boarding gate, flight delayed, gate changed, arrival baggage carousels all through sms.

I had it as part of corporate travel. It's actually amazing when you use it. Flight changes, departure gates etc all through notifications and sms.

Multiple times I’ve found out about a significant delay or even a cancellation from TripIt before I’ve been informed by the airline. Great product!

  • Up in the air

Like the pudding guy, David Phillips.

  • I've been a huge user of App In The Air for around 10 years, extremely disappointed it's shutting down. For any other business travellers who are looking for a replacement, I'd recommend Flighty. I've just started using it a few weeks ago and it seems a lot better than App In The Air. They're also working on a way to import all previous AITH data by the end of the year. It's pretty pricey though can buy a lifetime membership for $400 (obviously not worth it for the average flyer).

Agreed - TripIt used to be my go-to, but Flighty has well and truly overtaken it. Modern, functional and updates regularly.

    • +1

why do you use it - genuinely curious? It couldn't just be for flight pricing - what other features are great for frequent flyers

      • +2

I don't use it for pricing. I use it for check in info, boarding info (times/gates/etc), terminal transfer info, luggage carasouls, etc.

With Flighty you can track tail numbers to see incoming flights (which will help you know if your flight will be delayed). Also as someone that travels a lot I have an overall interest in tracking my travel data, gives me maps of my flights, how far I've travelled, most used airlines and plane type, and more.

I have the Flightly app downloaded, however haven't used it. Does it still do all the itinerary management like Tripit? I had Worldmate prior to that closing however Tripit is good for all the itinerary management and delays etc and the Turkish app store recent renewal was about $5.50.

          • +1

@dandandan: I'm not too sure what itinerary management is so I doubt it? I'm guessing its something you can put your hotels into and calculate things like how long it will take you to taxi to your hotel? Flighty is purely just for flights, nothing else, though it's very good at it.

@jeppetto367: Thanks for responding. Basically Tripit picks up all reservations from your inbox and puts it one itinerary of dates and has all the check/out time, contact number, reservation numbers, links to maps etc. I think I download Flightly as I have FligthAware and Flightradar 24 which are helpful to have at time particularly with if the plane you are due to fly in is incoming etc.

I am also a big fan of them, sad that they are closing. I subscribed to their lifetime(lol) subscription last year, i dont want to pay again $30-$50 a year for tripit for average use. Will look into flighty

TripIt Pro is only $5.5 annual membership with Itunes Turkey.

        • I tried to sign up via VPN, still shows me aussie pricing - how do you do Turkish pricing?

        • Note they limit functionality via the Turkey sub. I am not able to share my trip details with my partner which worked fine on my old sub. Contacted support and they were no help.

It's also failing to provide flight updates properly - again support were useless. The app has definitely gone downhill.

          • @gadgetguy: I was able to get upto date notification when I had data roaming on.

            • @nightelves: Nah, this is pre-trip changes to the flights. On the Turkey version it says "not monitored" next to both of my flights.

On the new account (non-Turkey) it says "Scheduled", indicating it is monitoring them.

When I questioned not being able to add my partner to my trip I got this:

"Thanks for the update. As we continue to serve more users around the globe, we’ve made recent updates to optimize the user experience. At this time, some accounts created after these updates are not compatible with trip sharing between specific individual accounts. We hope to be able to offer trip sharing between all accounts in the near future. "

Although you are unable to add [email protected] to your trip as a traveler, viewer, or planner, an email of your TripIt itinerary has been sent to this user."

Which of course is total BS and massively reduces usefulness of the app.

It works fine now I have signed up again (via the offer posted here). Clear downgrades of service for Turkey-based accounts (and probably elsewhere),

    • Same, 10+ years of using it, had a lifetime licence. Really sad to see it go. It was permanently on my Apple watch display when I was constantly flying for work.

  • I used Trip app to buy my latest international flights and it did all of this via the app. Told me where to check in and where to board. Even showed me the probability of the flight leaving on time and arriving on time.

  • Can we do turkey flightly family ?

    • Yes, I use both tripit and a flighty family plan both through the Turkey apple App Store.

      • Do the other family members need to be in Turkey?

      • I just tried the Turkey trick for Flighty and the Turkish prices are weird. Individual Annual is 1199 TRY. Family annual is 1099 TRY. Lifetime ones are crazy - 17,999 TRY!

        • Is TripIt and Flighty just the same? How many per family plan?
