      Cheers, corrected the post

      • No worries, I only realised because that's when i got mine and double checked.

I don't believe that would be for the Hall Effect Joystick Updated version.

EDIT: I just checked, and it's the non Hall-Effect version that was $55.30 as per Camelx3

      • Something weird just happened where i copied and pasted the title of this and it brought up the hall effects one as posted here. Now after you added that other link its going to a different one. Very weird. But as i said i do know that they did update them with hall effects. I believe this is the updated one where as the previous one's didn't.

But on another note if anyone wants a good hall effect xbox controller and doesnt mind wired I'd recommend the Gamesir G7 SE. I've got a ton of controllers and have used pretty much everything by this point. The G7 Is superior to pretty much everything else. Ive even had Elite controllers and every xbox controller I've had has had stick drift and or other problems. But yeah it's wired. So bare that in mind.

        • What would you recommend for windows, iOS and android gaming?
Casual gaming, metroidvanias, retro emulation. Don’t care about fps games.

@bashar20: Well it does depend on alot of things. The 8bitdo line is usually pretty highly rated. I have two Ultimate wired, Pro 2 wireless and a SN30 which all work well besides the 2.4ghz Ultimate which isn't bad. There are alot more third party options.

Personally alot of people like the first party Xbox Controllers but they just never seem to last. My personal favourite atm is the Gamesir G7 SE but that is wired.

I have quite a few PowerA and PDP controllers which while not being bad aren't particularly good or reliable even.

Ps4 and PS5 controllers arent too bad either but i personally also had issues in the past wirh them as well.

Also depending on what you want to use maybe pickup an 8bitdo dongle which helps alot when it comes to using different devices on android and pcs even. BT isn't always reliable.

There are alot more cheapie controllers out there but the main thing I'd advise is to try out as many as you can and since you play metroidvanias and retro emulation you will want something with a good dpad. The 8bitdo pro 2 is so good for this. I've been using mine for a few years now for these exact types of games.

If you need anything else or information on a particular controller ask me. I have hundreds at this point and way too many retro handhelds too lol.

Hall effect triggers and joystick with xbox compatability (while plugged in I think) for $75.71

Yet another version. Too many similarly named ones at this point.

    • So what’s the difference between the ultimate 2.4ghz one and the 8BitDo Ultimate 3-mode one?

      • Tbh i dunno its the first time I'd even heard about this 3-mode one. It must be real newish for sure.

      • Hall effect triggers and it can plug into an Xbox. I don’t think it can do wireless on Xbox though

  • This or the usb adaptor + my PS5 controllers for playing on nintendo/pc?

  • what is X-Input version means?

    • X-input means that it's basically going to be picked up as a native Xbox controller on your computer so it's just going to have better compatibility and integration with games & the OS as a whole if using Windows.

D-input is the other input type which has been deprecated for a bit now with X-input being the standard input type for windows. To get full functionality out of D-input devices nowadays you have to run basically a translator / emulator on-top of a D-input device so that it's read as an X-input on the controller front.

D-input devices can have more complex inputs than X-input devices though so you'll still see flight sim or racing sim equipment using D-input.

TL:DR: X-input has better compatibility and input for controllers with Windows

      • What about compatibility with iOS and android?

        • This controller is adverted as having compatibility with iOS (16.3+) and Android (9.0+)

  • Does this one has bluetooth for android, pc, etc..?
    Is bluetooth laggy?

    • Depends on the Bluetooth version but up until this point I've been using Bluetooth 5.0 and an Xbox controller on my PC with no latency issues whatsoever.

This model in the post does not have Bluetooth and comes with a 2.4GHz dongle, but they do have a Bluetooth model though.

      • +1

Ultimate 2.4g model actually has Bluetooth capability, but 8bitdo disabled it at first and later enabled it with a firmware update, which pissed off people who bought ultimate Bluetooth.

        • Wow really? Interesting that none of the advertising has been updated since but from a hardware perspective I guess that does make sense

Edit: Just checked and it only supports D-input from BT connection which I’d rather just use a dongle for X-input but 100% if you’re using BT for anything outside of Windows should be a pretty good experience

        • Didn't know this either, bought the bluetooth one just to connect to iOS devices…

Someone on Reddit mentioned that "it does not features the Switch mode of Ultimate Bluetooth. The 2.4 GHz also does not have gyro."

  • Was hoping someone could help educate me on this vs a xbox wireless controller for PC / Steam Deck gaming.

Just looking for a good BT controller, my old xbox controller has worked well but is a bit worn out and needs to be replaced.

Cant figure out if this controller is better or if i should just go with a xbox wireless controller again…

  • Got this a few weeks before, the charging stand is excellent idea but it doesn’t feel as nice and solid even compare to my old ps4 controller for long session. But yeah good buy for the price

  • This one indeed came with Bluetooth.
