Fisher & Paykel Induction Oven

Looking for ANY way to get a discount on Fisher & Paykel model OR90SPI6X1.

It seems Fisher & Paykel have a stranglehold on prices (everyone keeps using the response they are an agency). Not even Good Guys Commercial is allowed to sell below the retail price of $4,999.00. Harvey Norman isn't allowed to discount either.

The only way so far I've identified is to get a percent or 2 using CashRewards.

Any other tricks? Amex may have a $50 off.

Thanks, my OzBargain friends.

Just be wary the induction cooktop may have a significantly shorter service life than the oven; separates are therefore arguably better

  • If you want that specific model then probably not…

Have you looked at non-induction pricing @
    https://www.eands.com.au/catalogsearch/result/?q=OR90SPI6X1

    e.g. https://www.eands.com.au/fisher-paykel-or90scg1x1-90cm-stain… $2699

    • No i don't want gas. Thats why we are changing to induction. Thanks

  • The retail price is $6,999 by the looks of it (at least it was). Could always go discounted giftcards too - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards

The 10% off two items from fisher and paykel via harvey norman has me interested, I've been thinking about replacing the old dishwasher as well as getting the same stove. Other option is Westinghouse on the stove.

    • Thx. I can buy Good guys gift cards from NIB at 4% discount. Is that ths best i can do ? I saw a 5% off Harvey Norman but via redeemyourgiftcard.com.au
But you have to use bank transfer which makes me nervous.

  • F&P Cooking is Agency, meaning that the retailers (HN, TGG, E&S etc.) place orders with F&P and they handle everything.

If you buy $10k+ & buy 2+ appliances, you'll get 10% off, which might work out.

Only way to get an actual discount without spending more is to use discounted gift cards (TGG is most likely the easiest out of them as it is available on TCN/Blackhawk).

Get a job at The Good Guys and you might be entitled to staff discount.

  • They are considered a premium brand. No retailer will discount it. They get their prices from the F&P website, retailers order directly from them.

The only time you can get a discount is when F&P have a sale or promo and combined with the 10% Ultimate gift cards discount here. Good guys will price match F&P and use the gift cards.

This is how I got over around $500 off my gas stove top.

Nothing to do with being a 'premium brand'.
They have a contract that does not allow them to negotiate on price, and they get a commission on each sale.

    • 10% ultimate gift cards? I havnt heard of that .

    • They are owned by Haier.

    Any other tricks ?

Buy together with other items and get a bigger discount on those…
That's how they can work around their Agent's contract…

(or wait until F&P do a sale)

  • Premium is definitely in the list, that's why they can draw up the agreement so retailers can't discount.

    Miele is the same.

These premium brands can dictate their agreements with retailers that's how premium they are.

You think Westinghouse can do the same?

  • It is called Resale Price Maintenance, and is illegal in theory. But the ACCC is a joke.

  • If you're spending that much coin, buy Miele.

  • Try your union. Some have 10% discounts with TGG or other retailers.

I opted for separate induction cooker and pyrolytic oven, with de longhi and bosch respectively from TGG. Had five years and still going strong. I love both for the ease of cleaning.

  • I found myamexshop offers 5% off Goodguys.

But i have a gift voucher for partial payment for goodguys. Will i still get the 5% off on the part payment using my amex or will the gift card void the amex payment part ?
