And, unlike QD-OLED, it does not suffer from grey black areas in a lit room.

My only complaint is reading text on white backgrounds, the matte coating has a pretty noticeable oily texture

Nooo, Your post had me interested till this comment. Matte looks morrible.

ong wasnt expecting this at all

  • 27 Inch, 30, 32, 34. I'm just holding out for a 1080 24" OLED. Always been the perfect size.

No chance they do 1080p oled screens. Oled will never get down to the $300 range for 1080p

im framing this comment. 30 years from now im getting my revenge.

        • If you get one small enough it'll be cheap :) https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005006782948672.html

        • I have a 1080p 24.5 inch Sony OLED PVM-2551MD

They pop up on ebay occasionally.

          • @strayan: Aren't they more expensive than this LG? That's a medical display.

            • @parta: They are definitely more expensive if bought brand new but I’ve seen them sub 500 on eBay second-hand.

I get the competitive angle for 1080p and 480hz, but I cringe at the quality and detail. Bring on the 1440p/4k dual option monitors.

    • Suppose it’s much harder to run games at 480 at 1440p. 1080 is doable

      • I get what you’re saying, but it could be argued competitive fps doesn’t need 480 fps or ultra detail. With 5000 series on the way, crazy high fps on 1440p on med detail is more than doable. Then switch to 4K 240 for some sweet sweet shadow textures.

I was on the fence about an OLED but 3 days ago got the Samsung G8 for $1100. Think that's the better buy imo.

Doesn't work for me, think it's targeted.

      • Same, although there was the code EDU15 when I logged into my account.

It only applies when you have 2 monitors in your cart. The total comes to $2,783,41 or $1,391.70ea……..perfect dual monitor setup for WFH - https://i.imgur.com/XEHq1J2.jpg

Not sure if this code is also targeted though.

        • Seems targeted.

Confirmed. This coupon does work as long as you have 2 items in your cart. I ended up adding a vacuum filter bag for $19.95 with this LG monitor deal for a grand total of $1400. May or may not require an education account fyi.

does anyone know how much education discount would be

    • Dont think lg does education discount

      • nah they got i found its 10%

    I was looking at the MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED 31.5" 240Hz 0.03ms Gaming Monitor
but I currently use my monitor for 90% productivity/work and 10% gamings so quite hesistant to pay $1899 for the risk of Burn In and Poor Text Clarity
From what I have read the 3rd Gen QD-OLEDs are better for Text Clarity but not perfect. Also Burn in is still a bit elephant in the room with these monitors.

Leaning towards picking up the LG UltraGear 32GR93U-B 32" UHD IPS 144Hz Gaming Monitor when it's on sale for $700 again

Either that or wait until 2025 when they make Text Clarity perfect and provide a 10 year no burn in warranty (which wont happen)

    • Been using a LG C2 42 as a main monitor since 2022 with about 5000 hours of on-time before switching and it still looks brand new with no burn in

I do have the taskbar hidden, the monitor background set to black and to turn off on inactivity after 15 minutes though

      • yuh thats what I would do, personally don't care about background image, otherwise ima just use my monitor like normal

Has anyone had their order dispatched yet? I'm in Tasmania and have yet to receive a dispatch email. The LG website doesn't tell much at all

    • Mine says picking for delivery, whatever that means…
