As well as Dicksmith and Kogan. $130 seems like a normal price.

Price beat at Officeworks and bought one yesterday for $123.50. It was $137.

  • I'll take those flannel zebra jammies, secondhand and rock that (profanity)
The built-in onesie with the socks on that (profanity)
I hit the party and they stop in that (profanity)
They be like, "Oh that Gucci, that's hella tight"
    I'm like, "Yo, that's 130 dollars for a pencil"

      What have you been smoking?

      • A few people seem to take the product name literally.

the compatibility is confusing, i ended up getting a 3rd party pencil/stylus from amazon for $20 (for my 10th gen ipad), and it works good enough.

bought once. $130 pencil doesn’t even work on paper.

  • 2nd gen, released in Nov 2018, RRP at the time: USD99.

I'm sure there are differences but AliExpress sell ones for USD $5

Have a $20 or so one from Amazon. They’re very good if you’re using them for writing. Responsive, has wireless charging etc. Most third party ones seem to have a similar feature set as there seems to be a few designs that get rebranded.

Things it’s missing is pressure sensitivity, which is something people probably want if drawing, and also the tap gesture. Also need to manually turn it on by pressing the top button where I believe the Apple one is pick up and go but that’s hardly an issue.

My one has no issue with connectivity.

So yeah, third party ones are very viable for note taking. For drawing this has benefits given the pressure sensitivity is very useful there.

      • Can I have a product link?

Seriously though, are people buying this?

    • If you have a compatible iPad and you want to draw/write on it, then yes. It's a pretty popular accessory.

I bought one, but everytine i draw something to my astonishment it turns out to be an apple.

  • The rubber is $30 if your interested

  • is this the one that works with the new ipad air M2? and M4 ipads pros?

    • +1

Nope, you need the Pencil Pro (or USB-C version) for those.

      This one works on the 2018-2023 iPad Pro's (A12X to M2), the Air 4 (A14), Air 5 (M1) and iPad mini 6 (A15).
