  • Don't know much about dashcams, I am also looking for decent budget one and Rove is the only budget one made it to PCMag 2024 dashcam short list. I just purchased ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam Front and Rear, with $50 coupon and $10 amazon promo credit, ti came to $169.99, thought it is a good price for dual channel dashcam.

Fake 4K along with this GKU model, sorry to burst your bubble. Is interpolated (i.e. stretched) but the 5 megapixel sensor in the IMX335 isn't enough to capture at actual 4K.

You're looking for true 4K sensors such as the IMX415 or preferably Starvis 2 IMX678.

I recommend another model which will drop to $130 if you wait enough

Quality of the video is really clear and most important thing that most people miss out is good app support. The DDPAI app is fast to connect to the camera and has never failed.

    • Looks good. When do you think it will drop to $130?

    • Really? How and when please?

    • Thanks, it looks quite good but have you tested in real?

Its currently at $149 with $10 prime it comes down to 139…

      • I have prime its still 149 for me? o.o

      • Yeap I have this and tested. Front 4K is really good. Like really good. Back 1080p is not really usable but would be helpful to catch any rear collisions

  • I'm looking at this one:
Vantrue N5 4 Channel Dash Cam Front and Rear Inside Side, Four Way WiFi Dashcam for Car, 1944P+1080P+1080P+1080P, STARVIS 2 IR Night Vision, GPS Tracking, 7/24 Parking Mode, Support 512GB Max https://amzn.asia/d/24KlE9S

Any hopes anyone thinks we'll get it cheaper around december time? It's $440ish currently.

    • If you need 4CH and/or not caring too much about parking mode - then Vantrue is a good option.

If you don’t need 4CH, then I’d recommend the Viofo A229 series over it - pick whatever variant you need, 3CH (Plus 3CH), 2K (Plus) or even 4K (Pro). They’re pretty much on par in terms of price, except Viofo has arguably better recording footage, better parking mode features and it’s hardwire kit has more voltage cut off adjustability.
