  • Nice deal for an excellent SSD drive.

    • +12

Must resist until <$100 per TB.

      • +3

if you factor in the heatsink it kind of is 100 per tb

    • Just posted the 4TB deal.

  • Been waiting for this! can finally can get one

  • +3

    Holdddd

  • These any good for PS4?

    • +2

pretty sure PS4 requires 2.5" disk

      • Aaahhhh, cool yes - I did know that.
        Thanks!

  • Can i pricematch elsewhere as i dont have prime?

    • no as this is grey import

  • Hahaha I was watching this all day for a price drop and ended up going with a WD Black 2TB SN850X non prime sale for 204 bucks.

    • I’ve been looking at both this past week and from what I’ve seen the WD could be better for gaming if you intend on using it in your PS5.

I’m waiting for a sub $200 on the 2TB or I might just pick the 1TB as I only ever play one game at a time

      • Yeah I got one for MSFS24.

    • That's with no heatsink.
The WD with heatsink is $215

  • Bought one, thanks OP

  • Is there much of a difference between this and the SK hynix Platinum P41 for $216?

    • +3

      13 dollars 🤣

  • Prepare for ps5 pro?

  • Is this good for pc use also?

    • +1

Yeah great for PC too. One of the best performing PCIe 4.0 drives around, the preinstalled heatsink is nice too.

  • Very good deal. I believe I purchased my Samsung 980 PRO, 2 TB for $180 CAD + tax, which is exactly this price. Very good deal. Solid Purchase

  • +1

Anyone know if this is good for PS5?

    https://amzn.asia/d/h1IfUxC

    • Looks like it would work, but personally I'd choose a more reputable brand over this (and at least 2TB). If you're on a tight budget though, compare the read/write speeds to some other options, and just read some reviews.

    • +1

I was going to get that, but ended up getting the Verbatim

Verbatim Vi7000G- has the DRAM and heatsink for $163

GamesRadar reviewer had it in his PS5 for 3 months for his review
      https://www.gamesradar.com/verbatim-vi7000g-ssd-review/

      • +1 I might opt for this instead too. It doesn't say heatsink is included anywhere on the listing except on the images - wondering if it's actually included?
PS: review says included and the packaging on Amazon photos also says so. Cheers

      • Looks like a great deal but cant find any mention of warranty beyond Amazon's standard 30 day returns?

      • 700 TBW vs 1200 for the 990 Pro. Considering my current drive has only done 35TB in 4 years maybe not worth considering but does it mean the Samsung is made to a higher standard and less likely to prematurely fail?

  • Ordered one, Thanks OP

  • +6

Price dropped to $218.22 this morning. How low will it go?

  • Any recommended enclosures for these drives to use as an external?

  • +1

I wanted an ssd for my ps5 shortly after buying the console. Ideally should have started with a 2tb… but to save $$$ I opted for a 1tb. Ended up getting a 2tb a bit later on (1tb isn’t enough even when I uninstall games once completed). 4tb is my next objective (have been steadily upgrading to 4tb in both ssd slots in all of my laptops).

  • Any cashback deals for amazon? Shopback 15% doesnt seem to apply

  • Would this be good as an O/S drive or storage?
I'm looking for both, one for a new build as an O/S drive and another to replace a SATA HDD.

    • Probably be an overkill is my opinion.

      • Overkill for an O/S drive?

  • Anyone know if it is possible to remove the heatsink? Tjink about getting this for a rog ally
