Guess you missed the leak this morning where someone got a hold of the new base MBP with 16GB set to be officially announced this month.

Try keeping up with the news.

Guess you missed the leak that 16g ram was standard in 2012. Cry me a river.

        • -2

I’m not defending how long it took. But if you’re going to make smart ass jokes, maybe try keeping up with the news.

@PainToad: Yes I should have waited 15 years eagerly anticipating the 16gb base model macbooks

        • Fake news. Maybe for enthusiasts. 8gb was very much standard around that time

I have had this laptop in 8GB/256GB for a bit over a year. Best laptop I've ever had - MacOS or Windows. Dozens of tabs, multiple Chrome and Firefox sessions, MS Teams, Zoom calls, spreadsheets, NAS, Adobe Express in a browser, all open at the same time. I have NEVER pined for more RAM. Battery lasts forever. Screen is beautiful. 8GB might mean something on other laptops or for other use cases. But in the real world, it has never made a difference I can feel. At least for me. I don't game or edit video. YMMV.
