There was also an option for a coupon which brought it down to $23.80, thanks!

Thanks for the heads up. Did not show up on my end. Maybe because I bought other items with S&S and paid all together

  • +1

    Thank you, got one.

  • Price difference aside, anyone used both these and the Somat tabs and able to compare?
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Somat-Excellence-Dishwasher-Dishwa…

Mum uses/used the Somat at her place and swears by them, but not tried the Finish (apart from the Classic, which are just 'okay'). Coles stopped ranging Somat so she tried the Fairy tabs recently - doesn't like em! Will move back to the Somat now that I realised Amazon stocks them - or try the Finish.

    • +1

I'd just get whichever is the better deal at the time that you need them.

      • For me yep, that's what I do.

Stuck with Somat again though for her since she likes them best,.

    Good price.

  • Thanks OP

Is this the one that leaves that stinky smell? Especially on silicone items.

    • +1

Never happened to us atleast with Quantum ones

    • +6

It definitely leaves a smell. Not a bad smell, but the smell hangs around. Wouldn't suggest it when washing baby bottles.

    • +3

      Ah! It's not just me!!
Yep, I've totally found they leave a soapy smell on silicone items. Bad enough to leech into foods if you're cooking with a silicon spatula, for example. I threw out my silicone utensils thinking they'd aged to the point where they were absorbing the soap from the dishwasher, but now I'm regretting it… Should've just swapped detergents.

    • +2

      YES!

I bought these on the last deal, but we have a lot of plastic because we have little kids. I often use one of their plastic plates for my toast (the IKEA ones for those playing along) and I couldn't work out what this weird detergent taste was… until I remembered that I'd recently opened the packet. They work perfectly fine otherwise and it's not an issue on the other plates/bowls/cutlery but if you have lots a plastic, give it a miss.

    • Ah have noticed this.

I just ordered these ones instead from Catch which don't claim to have any Lemon.
      https://www.catch.com.au/product/6-x-60pk-finish-powerball-u…
Decent price too at $126 with $10 Off and free OnePass delivery ($0.32/ea)

So hard to make sense of all the variations.

  • which one do you guys prefer to buy? the cheap Finish Power Lemon Sparkle Dishwashing Tablets, 700 grams (Pack of 100) for $18 with S&S

or the quantum one? does it give a lot difference in outcome?

    • Quantum ones are better.

  • Are these really better than the Woolworths ones which are $12.80 for 100. I find the Woolworths ones clean fine.

    • +5

Apparently powders are the best, rather than tabs, tabs are a gimmick

      • Yep. Recently switched from these to generic brand powder. I found that the generic powder works better.

        • +2

As in the big supermarket generic brand powder?

I once tried the Finish powder instead of my usual Quantum tabs; the result was terrible and it left my glasses all cloudy. Had to run it again using a Quantum tab.

          • +1

@fullspend: Yep, my experience as well, tried the finish powder and the results were markedly worse compared to finish quantum powerball

          • @fullspend: Yeah, wasn't going to name names, but it was Coles brand. Haven't tried the other ones yet but the Coles brand works surprisingly well.

Off tangent Youtube links with no commentary or summary, thanks.

        • I was just about to grab this bargain, then watched the video. I’m off to buy some cheap powder and save a bundle.

      • +1

Choice say otherwise. They rank powders way down the line https://www.choice.com.au/home-and-living/kitchen/dishwasher…

      • I enjoy how this debate comes up each time. Can we settle it?

    • If Woolies ones work for you, there is absolutely no reason to waste money on more expensive dishwashing tablets.
I use Aldi tablets and they work fine. These aren't bargain in my eyes even at this "discounted" price.

      • The woolies ones are 13c. That’s pretty hard to beat except with powder.

        • Can you link the woolies ones? I can't find any for that price.

Always use Intensive program + powder:

    • 5c more water (~8L) + 24c more electricity (~1kWh, but you can run with solar power to avoid this) than eco program per run
    • use any homebrand powder (~5c) and still wash better than eco + tablet thanks to higher water temperate
    • use any amount of powder desired, no waste when wash less (try reduced amount, e.g. 15g, for full load)
    • everything already dry when finish/open the door (except plastics), no rinse agent required
    • no chemical residue anymore (no rinse agent; one more rinse cycle than eco program*; powder dissolve much better in high temp water than tablet in low temp water)

So equal cost (eco+tablet vs intensive+powder) without solar, or much cheaper with solar, and better wash result!

Just do not wash soft/thin plastics or avoid any pressure on them to keep their shape…

    * on most models, check your model manual or listen carefully 😅

  • So, if this clogs up your dishwasher do you have to get a quantum mechanic?
