Was looking for an airpods like semi in-ear earbuds and these new Air5 seem promising. There is not much reviews as they are newly released but from ones I've found they are overall positive.

Active noise cancellation and sound quality are reported to be good and improved from the previous Air4.

If you don't want noise cancellation or multi-device (multipoint) connection, the Air3 Deluxe HS is cheaper good option $48.73.

  • I was a big fan of SoundPeats - I have their Air 2 and Air3, but found the later models - Air 3 Deluxe had significant battery issues. The two I bought were both returned after one of the buds continually gave out after less than 30 minutes.

If they have fixed the battery quality, they are a good buy.

  • I got a set of these on the last sale, seem ok but have not really tested the noise cancellation yet. One issue i dont like compared to my Air 3 which i love is the case is much bigger in comparison with the air 5. It appears to be about 30% larger in thickness and height which is annoying when you want to fit in your pocket with other items such as phone or wallet. Ill use the air 5 on my next flight see how the ANC works but if its not much chop ill go back to my trusty Air 3

    • Let us know how they go on the plane, I'd be very interested. If they are good enough then I can leave my Bose QC45 at home! There's different levels of ANC in the PeatsAudio app.
The Air3 case battery is 220 mAH whereas the Air5 case is 400 mAH so almost double the capacity. That would explain the case size difference.

      • yeah i understand about the case but for me its unneccesary as ive never run out of charge in the case, maybe if you do a lot of travel it could be a problem.

There is only one level of ANC, they different options are based on your ear size, so you need to pick the one that works. I tried it last night went for a walk along main road and it does work, didnt completely block out the noise but i would say around 50% reduction in the traffic noise which i think is acceptable given its not an ear bud style.

  • Damn they on 5 already, barely got any use of my air4, my orig air4 didn't have anc functioning on it

  • Do they still give out the discount codes for your next order?

  • I am still using the air 3 hs still working great not sure if worth the uograde wheres picky audio with a review!?

    • +1

unless you have a need for ANC like travel on planes i wouldnt bother with upgrade, i have both and still use my air 3 daily as i like the case better.

      • Thank you, going on long haul next Feb, there may be an Air6 by then so will wait.

  • I received the earbuds today and have been using it for a few hours. Unfortunately I have to report I'm probably going to have to buy something else as they are uncomfortable for me. The buds are too bulky so they press around my ear compared to my wife's airpods which sit in nicely in my ear as though I'm not wearing anything. Sound quality they are better than the airpods and can adjust EQ to suit. ANC is pretty good too for what they are.

    • Update: I've grown to like these earbuds now that I'm more use to the fit. Plus after I registered my extended warranty they offered me some brand new earphones! I went for the Go run free 2 but they offered the air4 as well!
