What makes it illegal?
I think by "here" he means whatever state he's in.
Yes, so again what makes it illegal in VIC? It meets the criteria Assuming that they're still in Vic based off their profile of course.
A legal e-scooter is defined as a vehicle designed for use by one person and:
- has a maximum speed capability of 25 kilometres per hour when ridden on level ground
- transports a person while the person is standing
- has 2 wheels (one in front of the other)
- has a footboard between the front and rear wheels
- is steered by means of a handlebar
can be propelled by one or both of the following
one or more electric motors
person pushing one foot against the ground.
@Clear: I thought Vic had max 200Watt limit?
@OzViper: Nope. eBikes are 250W or 200W.

Does this eligible for the $200 QLD government e-scooter rebate?
What? Qld even has 200 rebate for e scooter?
Don't even mention 50 cent all transport fee! What nsw has????? Not even legal here
And $500 for e-bikes… though, the rebates for solar is probably one of the worst if not the worst…
Probably a good idea consider how many ebikes/lithium battery are burning up these days.
Will this go with my S2R?
Why would you want your scooter to be connected to (controlled by) an app?
Software locking / restriction / geo-fence etc… You can also control things such as battery conservation (e.g. extend range for reduced speed)
Good question , will suit some users , you can lock and unlock the scooter, switch lighting on & off , Trip map , not guidance , plus more
The only ducati I can afford
and the only type I could control
Lot of comments but no voting? Is it ozbargain-worthy?
Fixed
(I thought all deals posted automatically get 1 vote anyways). Not from associates or store reps.
Member @Clear is a bit of a scooter nerd & hasn't upvoted so most likely not a bargain.
It's fine for an out of the box street legal escooter and has everything you'd expect for a consumer escooter. However I think the price is too high and you're probably paying for the logo. At the $1000 mark I'd be expecting a few more premium features like suspension.
Then again escooters in general over the last 12 months have gone up in price. All the brands have gained marketshare and have little reason to offer big discounts. I.e. Panmi trying to save themselves and Bike Scooter City going against Bolzzen.
Totally new to the escooter world - So if you can please help with some questions. I know i can google to find many answers but trust the real world user feedback from ozbargain
How many years/recharges the batteries last for before needing replacement ? When it needs replacement , what would be the rough cost ?
What other maintenance cost are associated ? Tyres/brakes ?
Does it need to be serviced at any intervals? Parts availability?
Where do we take it for any repairs /service ?

Depends how often you ride. I have scooters 3 years old and still going strong after being ridden a few times a week. Replacement batteries outside of big brands like Segway would be special orders and will cost heaps. Often in the area of a new scooter.
What other maintenance cost are associated ? Tyres/brakes ?
Tyres get worn out over time, you can get punctures/holes etc. and the brake pads will get worn out. Often I find that you'll get a puncture long before the tyre wears out all the brake pads need replacing. Especially for tube tyres or if you're not checking the pressure often enough. Other maintenance would be making sure all the nuts and bolts are tight.
Does it need to be serviced at any intervals? Parts availability?
Nah.
Where do we take it for any repairs /service ?
The escooter shops will often do services. Depending where you are (i.e. Brisbane) there may be heaps around.
@Clear: Thank you mate. Much appreciated .
Any discounts on Scooters with a +100kg max rating? Surprised this isn't with the power output
Just thought I'd add I was walking my Apollo City pro across the road in Vic and a cop in one of those highway patrol cars yelled at me stating mine is illegal and if he catches me riding it he'll fine me, take me to caught rarara so not sure what the hell is going in.
Mines the 500w version
I have mine limited to 25kmph now, not sure if that makes legal now or not
Court?
Yep my bad
There's always that one dirty cop who doesn't know any better. If you've speed limited it to 25km/h you're perfectly legal.
Thanks for that Clear, appreciated. If they do take me to court one day ill let you guys know.
from prison no doubt….it is Victoria after all πβοΈππ¨ββοΈπ

Sounds like fun! Though not legal here. Not that police care
