Don't forget to check the FAQ's thanks to BG

Cashback terms and exclusions

What will stop me getting my cashback:

  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable. If the SIM is deactivated prior, Boost may decline cashback.

  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it will result in an untracked purchase and the purchase will be ineligible for cashback.

  • Cashback is ineligible on eSIMs, recharges, phones, bundles, accessories.

  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.

  • Cashback is ineligible on purchase of gift cards and/or use of gift cards for payment.

  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential:

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.

  • Always return to TopCashback and click through via the pink cashback button to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.

Good to know:

  • Ensure you disable plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole & VPNs prior to clicking/tapping from TopCashback as they will prevent your order from tracking.

  • If you cancel / return / exchange / modify your completed order, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.

What to do and when:

  • Missing cashback claims must be lodged within 90 days of purchase.

Enjoy!

  • Does that mean can’t activate after 21 oct?

    • +3

No, it means that you can’t buy the sim from 21 oct onwards but you can still activate it until the expiry on your sim

      • What is the Sim expiry date?

        • +7

Wouldnt matter if you want the cashback.

SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable. If the SIM is deactivated prior, Boost may decline cashback.

        • Unsure as Boost doesn’t specify this on their website

  • Can i ask customer representative to apply the sim credit to my current sim? Would that be considered as recharge?

    • no

    • +1

You can try messaging Boost customer support but they've been reluctant to add it on to an existing number, depending on the CS that you get. Most port out to another free sim card and then port back in

      • +1

Too much hassle port out and then in

        • +5

Some would rather pay full price to not have to jump through hoops. Their money, their choice.

        • hand in your OzBargain membership then

          • @wakie: I am here to help you 😊

    • Yes, i just did it a few days ago. But got the, this is a one time thing spiel.

    • Yes just jump on the chat (or may have to call these days). Agree they are reluctant these days but they've always done it.

Are we going to always get download speed of 150Mbps or less with this plan?

    https://boost.com.au/blogs/help-topics/network-speeds

  • Seems like this is going to keep getting cheaper, id say wait until its atleast $80 cashback

    • That's what I've been saying. No one listened and happily bought for $60-70 cashback :) $77 is not too bad though. Lucky numbers too.

      • $77 is not too bad though. Lucky numbers too.

        $88 is a luck-ier number :-)

        • +1

Depends on individual. For some (even Asian), even 4 is a lucky number.

  • I could look this up but what are boosts roaming packs like?

    • +3

Not sure, you should look it up

      • +1

Me neither. I'll let you know when I look it up.

    • +1

Pretty bad, better to just esim it

170GB on activation for new customers. Activate by 21 October 2024.
My reading of it is that you need to activate by that date.

    • +2

That's to get the extra data. Activate after 21 Oct and get data according to the offer that then applies. This should be independent of cash back, which just requires activation within 30 days (and could be new or old plan).

  • Currently in boost, if I port out what minimum time Until I can come back and take up this offer as a 'port in'. TIA

    • You can port out and port in, within 5+ minutes.

I've done this, ie. gone to another phone (a friend's new eSIM),
and then ported back to my phone (physical Boost SIM),
      all within 5+ minutes.

      • Awesome, thanks for that

      • So please confirm you can re-use your existing Boost SIM so long as it had ported out successfully? Just type in the same SIM numbers in the activation screen? I never knew that - always waited for the new SIM to arrive in the mail…

Facing a weird issue while placing an order. Getting the following message.

Sorry, we are unable to process your order. Please try again later.

Getting this message from last 3 weeks. This is my first time on boost and never order anything earlier as well. Tried different debit cards and addresses.

    Any advice?

    • Had the same issue for 2 days. My advice is to use the referral link from the post and create a new Top Cashback account. It should work after that.

      • Tried with a new account using the referral link. But receiving the same error.

    • Same, 1st time that has happened to me.

    • Also on cashrewards $75 cashback !

  • Tried 3 times - SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG
We’re sorry but we’re experiencing technical issues. Please try again later.

    any advice?

  • Cashback is ineligible on eSIMs

    wtf

    • That’s what the terms say, sorry!!

      Level 2 - Helpful Comment ✅

      • for sure, not blaming you nor negging, just bizarre terms!

        • -1

          All good!

          Level 1 - Showing Appreciation ✅

  • What's the easiest/cheapest sim card to port out for existing customers?

  • +2

Also on cashrewards $75 cashback !

    • eSIM not eligible for Cashback unfortunately

      • that;s same for topcashback as well. What I waa thinking is to order here a physical SIM and then convert it to e-sim !
not sure if we can do before 90-95 days and still be eligible for cashback.

  • +3

Got a "Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later." message. Tried 3 days in a row, deleted cache, tried different browsers, tried checking out with my mobile with mobile data…no luck. I'm starting to think there is a problem on Boost Mobile's end if so many people are having the same issue…

  • +4

I’ll always downvote boost deals as comments section always filled with people who cannot check out. I see 4 people in this comments section. There’s a pole on ozbargain that shows over half of people can’t check out. I’ve tried all the tricks like changing address, credit card, name. My wife can’t checkout and she’s never been with boost in her life. Their checkout is simply broken.

Should be tagged at targeted or unobtainable

  • When you port out to another service provider and then port back into Boost do you lose your existing Boost profile and customer ID etc and have to create a new one?

  • Good deal and service, Telstra 5G.
$150-170 is what they used to cost.

Currently on my 4th or something, last time they were trying to say you can't activate if you are a boost customer already but never had an issue on the chat/calling up, just have to say you didn't know (or try someone else). I have never had to port out and in, but that is another option (most 2$ Sim cards cost $10-12 to use/charge up).

Shame mine isn't up for replacing till end Jan.

    • i believe you can purchase now and activate later, you just wont get the cashback
      you could purchase on 20Oct
activate it 20 oct, that way you are only 2-3 months off, still cheaper than the $300 as only other option

      • Cheers may look into it.
Although the cashback is what makes the deal appealing. I remember seeing the email saying they are changing these plans but can't remembered the specifics. Probably not that much more money for more data etc. No point wasting 3 months really.

  • +5

Unobtainable deal, I am getting SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG error.
I have spoken to support multiple times and have exhausted all possible options.
Appears to be a system issue at Boost end.

  • +2

In boost page it says new customers only. For existing customers, it might be rejecting based on address or the driving license number. It can't take this long to fix an IT issue that breaks their sales. I may be wrong, but reading the comments here and the previous post, I suspect they are trying only to sell to new customers. Hence this deal is unobtainable.

    • +1

So it would be obtainable for new customers lol

Never designed as a recharge, just use a different email etc in that case and test it out.

      • +1

Not for recharge. Tried with different email, still same error. Hence I suspect it could be with the address or Driving license no. Again, I may be wrong.

        • +1

          Correct, it's a starter kit.
Sounded like a problem with their website, don't think they would stop anyone with buying one. It doesn't come into it until you activate it.

    • +3

im a new customer and its not working for me. i have tried asking their customer care team but they said that they there is no internal issue on their side.

  • Is any current Boost user with iPhone able to confirm if the network in the top left displays as Boost or Telstra?
Currently with Telstra and thinking to switch

    • Boost uses the full telstra network…

      • -1

Yes fully aware of that…. Some mvo have their own brand show in the signal bar even though they use another network like Telstra….

        • +1

I doesn't matter as it's still the Telstra network (5G where available).
Go to Telstra direct if you want it to say 'Telstra'.

        • +1

          Yeah… why's it matter "what it shows"…?

    • +1

      Boost text is shown

      • All I wanted to know, thanks heaps.

    • On IP12. its shown as Boost mostly but I am sure I've seen Telstra scrolling on the same location before (could be during a call)?

  • +1

All those error messages above…. I had the same issue, talked to boost customer service, its mainly because Boost use the same systems as Telstra. So if youre trying to port a Telstra number over, you get errors.

  • New customer and tried multiple browsers and can't make a purchase. Unattainable deal.

  • +1

No luck checking out. got the same error as above.

  • Tried few times using different browser without any luck.

    • Maybe ring em up.

  • For those having issue check out in last step. This seen to worked when I used mobile (cashreward app). Got confirmation email and the reward being tracked.

    • Unfortunately, using the Cashrewards app didn't work for me.

  • Doesnt work, my wife has boost but i do not so not sure why it wont work

  • As someone new and looking to save on mobile costs - how difficult is it to transfer (is this what you guys mean by port) from Optus to Boost? I don't want to change my number as everyone in my organization already has my number saved and communication is critical in our line of work

    • +1

Should be fairly easy… As long as you can actually buy a Boost Sim Card

    • +1

You'll receive sms with the pin numbers. Need the pin numbers to move your phone number. Enter the pin when activating the new sim card. Fairly easy. But first, you need to be able to buy the sim card first.

  • +1

    showing 80$ for me now

  • Boost website still not working. Even crashed my browser.

  • +2

we have a new High, TCB doing 80$
