I've been wearing mine for 3 years. No issues and not needing replacing anytime soon still. And very comfortable for my wide feet.
Nothing wrong with not buying R.M or Blundstone because of your budget. Hush Puppies are a fine mid-tier option.
Blundstone is not expensive as RMW. Go to Aussie Disposals and try for yourself.
Hush Puppies and Julius Marlow should be around $30-$70 when on sale for them to be worth it. You will eventually get it once you've worn enough "Brands Collective" products they are below than "mid-tier".
Check older deal discussions in OzBargain you know its been widely known since ~7 years ago that Hush Puppies don't last.
Wow,…you seem like an "Authority on boots" and mainly "your way. or the highway"
@ozhunter68: Im not asking anyone to follow my suggestion.
Its up to you.
I think you're the one that gets offended by my suggestion. Its free, you can take it or leave it.
I started this discussion by calling out that this price is still too expensive for what it is and i didn't tell anyone to NOT buy it. So, I don't know where you got that perception.
Someone asked me to explain, so I explained.
@meong: Fair enough. I'm not so offended by your suggestion,……..
but rather the style of delivery.
@ozhunter68: Understood.
I just delivered straight up facts based on MY experience.
I have worn Julius Marlow and the leather panels came off 8 months in. Not ripped, it came off.
I've worn Hush Puppies, the sole had a hole from being worn out that i felt cold wetness when I stepped on puddle.
Then I realised they came from the same group and likely from the same factory.
Then i bought Florsheim, they lasted a bit longer (1.5 years) but maybe cause pandemic i haven't been walking in them as much but looks so beat up (although no holes, at least).
@meong: Full respect for not getting angry and backing up your viewpoint with more real life experiences.
As someone similar to yourself who hates badly made and often not cheap products such as
footwear etc ( especially as my first ever full time job 40 years ago was at a quality 100 year
Australian saddlery ( used to do repairs in Ballarat for Cob & Co etc ). I know there is a huge devide
between cheap and quality leather as well as workmanship ( or the lack thereoff ).
I just got a bit defensive as footwear is often very personal, but you seem to have good experience
history.
@ozhunter68: Well, i still would be preventing people from buying HP or JM.
I used to buy them around $40-$60 mark from Myers when they're on sale and those are the acceptable price for 'fast fashion' products which I consider HP and JM are.
Heck, my $15 Ben Sherman "ozbargain" boots bought from Kogan are lasting longer than the HP and JM.
Why don’t you enlighten us as to a cheaper pair which last longer?
Blundstone is not that expensive at low $100s and can last a lot longer. Also, they have the steel shank to improve on the stability.
I used to go through Hush Puppies and Julius Marlow easily in less than a year if you take public transport and walk to the train stations everyday.
I tried Florsheim and it was pretty much the same albeit slightly better.
I liked Wild Rhino but didn't buy it as i've seen enough reviews that say they don't last long.

I just grabbed a pair. I hope they are comfy.

Wild rhino is on sale for 120, way better quality and made in Portugal not china like hush puppy. Also an Australian company, sizes are in Australian not the me yuoned us.
Don't know if I am tripping out, but your link goes to some USB powered mini fan
Oh dang you are right, I copied the wrong link sorry.
Well, that's definitely not what I had in mind when I said I needed to cool down my kicks!
Check reviews about Wild Rhino compared to other Aussie branded boots and you'll know they dont last long. There are many Reddit discussions about it.
For a pair that lasts less than a year, this is still too expensive.
