just bought one and got payment declined on ATO payment. I've used these before but first one in a while.

I just bought a card and paid the ATO with no issues.

      • yeh it just went through.

not sure what happened. maybe i didn't wait long enough after buying it to try or maybe ATO systems hadn't had its coffee yet

    • I just used some yesterday.

  • Tried twice with my AMEX today to buy several cards. Got the dreaded "Transaction failed, please contact customer service." I have the available credit on my card too. I know this has happened to others in the past. Maybe just try again tomorrow.

    • Worked the next morning. Must be something about buying it late at night or a fault in their system at the time.

  • Has anyone had any luck paying with a NAB cc? I am trying to buy 10 to hit my bonus points but I get "Transaction failed, please contact customer service." every single time.

I called up NAB because I know that some banks block these kind of purchases as fraudulent but apparently they can't see any attempts made to purchase from their end.

What's the secret? I've tried different IP addresses, different browsers, incognito etc…

    • I tried with multiple browsers and got one card with my NAB card. But it is now back to failing. I called NAB and it is not on their end. And this company just keeps blaming nab not their shitty site.

      • Yep I've tried over 20 attempts, different emails, mobiles etc…

What an absolute nightmare. I don't know if this is NAB specific…I opened up my CC just for this

        • I opened one for this as well. I am going to try and put a couple through on my other CC just too see.

        • Just got this after multiple emails back and forth.
"We have investigated further and as this is a Promotion there is a daily limit of 1 order per customer.
As this is the case you would need to wait 24 hours from your last order to make a new order.
We can see there is an issue with not receiving the code from the bank however this type of card is currently in promotion and terms and conditions are 1 per day.
Sorry about the confusion as we were getting a different error message than we usually do which was causing the issue."

So it means it failed a butt load of times at first. Then swapped to a fresh install of chrome. Got one purchase. Then back to failing constantly. But it was about a daily limit. I doubt it given that the initial attempts all failed.

Nab confirmed they did not receive and 3ds requests from them. It is clearly a bug on their payment gateway.

          • @curtturtle: Ahhhhh but that still doesn't explain the failures before you had your successful purchase. Or all the failures I'm experiencing too.

Thanks for getting back though, I might stop trying purchases for 24 hours and see what happens

          • @curtturtle: Tried again today and it still failed……so frustrating. Then I tried a different CC (ING) and it went through first try

        • Same here- was trying over the weekend. First attempt on Chrome yesterday afternoon failed, then tried with Edge (2x cards) and surprisingly transaction went through!

I'm now trying to buy more on Edge but had transaction failed. It isn't 1 per day as I'm past the 24 hour limit either…

  • Two days of getting the transaction failed contact customer service.

I've found not trying to do the max each time helps… i.e. get 5 lots fo $250, rather than 10 cards at once.

I give up. This website is pure cancer.

    • +1

its definitely got issues, I'll give you that.
It's hard to tell whether its their web site or the card provider, because I think its a combo of both, but at different times.
If I could just a $30k gift card at a time I'd be much happier. Would save me 120 transactions each go. Would probably make their web site run faster too

  • Tried with Amex. Working perfectly. Paid $2000 to ATO

Not working with my CITI card (NAB) either.

  • ah crap, just paid a $4k GST bill. I was keeping my eye out for these cards but obviously not hard enough.

Look up on earlier comments, lots of people struggling to purchase with CC as many are blocked, so the site is buggy…

Completely smooth experience for me. Used these to churn through multiple credit cards and amassed ~400k in QFF points without any payments being declined at any stage.

      • I just bought half a dozen of the gift cards this afternoon, and it was straight-forward.
        I didn't use a Chromium-based browser and with no ad-blockers.

        • Unfortunately deal expired in the evening, didn't manage to try again today 😢

          • @Craze: The deal expired at 5pm (Tue. 19/11).
This is written in the title post.

That's why I had to be quick, and got them at 4:30pm.

This exact deal seems to run roughly every 3 months or so if you look through previous posts for this deal (this year alone, it was posted in Jan, March, July, Oct), so you probably won't need to wait much longer if you want to try to prepare for any tax bills for this FY.

  • Ah, was a good deal in the absence of anything else. Didn't realise there was an expiry.
