  • Thanks OP, just looked on Amazon at this. It's one giant book apparently and not 3 seperate books.

    • I think that's only the hardcover, scroll down to the reviews for a picture of the paperback.

      • Thanks for that. I purchased.

  • Good deal

  • Literally the only series i couldnt finish. Starts off so well but by the fourth book i was really struggling and didn't end up getting through it.

    • I think people only recommend the first 3 books.

      • +2

Just spoiling myself by reading the wiki entries for the later books is a trip. Can't imagine going in blind and having to mentally keep up with the crazy narrative choices. Makes sense that the 2nd trilogy is on sale more frequently too.

        • there isn't 2 trilogys. the 4th book is definitely the final book of the first 3. 5 and 6 are a new arc but still relate to the main story of the first 4 significantly.

          • +1

@jonnys1n: Sounds like a fair point to make and i'll take your word for it since I have not read them but it's sold together as 'The Great Second Dune Trilogy' so….yeah. Both right? I guess

      • I understand why now!
I went in thinking that it couldnt be THAT bad… turns out that it can. Some chapters were a real chore to get through

    • I recently re-consumed all as audio books. None rival the first but the fourth is very pompous in its tone with many declarations on the state and nature of humanity by the main character.

Things get going again in the 5th and 6th with a new arc.

      • Pompous is a very accurate word to describe it! Id heard that it picks back up but i never ended up making it that unfortunately

  • the first book was great.
The second, I could only get through, by reading random pages, ripping out page after I finished.

Wow, I'm glad Amazon tells me that I own the books already (ebooks) or I would have bought it again…

According to the date of purchase and price, it must have been from this deal… 3 years and 8 months ago! Geez, I've got so many books and games in my pile of shame that I've forgotten what I own…

  • The two recent films are a favourite of mine and the books are so good so far - only up to 4!

I wish they can make the subsequent books into films without ruining it
