My woollies plan runs out today and realised they are not giving out 10% shopping on long life plans

Made me re-read the email I received from Woolies Mobile. It says I am in Group 1:

Your Active recharge: $100, $170 or $220 Long Expiry plan.
Your Auto-recharge set up: Same value Long Expiry plan.
    Action you need to take:
As you have an active Long Expiry plan and Auto-recharge set up for the same plan, you're all set and don't have to do anything! You'll automatically continue on your current plan with all its benefits, including the 10% off your in-store shop at Woolworths Supermarkets offer, even after 3 September 2024.

Edit: Looks like you missed setting up Auto-Recharge in time?

I think this post scared a lot of people that set up auto renewals..
I know it did me lol

    • +1

it seems so, but even my other phone has a recharge on auto, and I didn't get the 10% off. Strange!

  • and realised they are not giving out 10% shopping on long life plans

    I'm still getting the 10% off…

If you were on this plan, pretty sure you'll still get the offer.

Thanks for this. Asking $5.95 for shipping. (?)

Need a service with an e-Sim. Looks like these guys will offer eSIM opposed to Coles or Catch…. I know Amaysim offers eSIM but their network is crap in my area.

    • the bottom option is for a domestic letter, free postage, but it's not registered post so if it goes missing :-S

How to use it for recharge

    • Port out then port back in. Or ask Boost live chat, but YMMV.

        • +1

          Vodafail $2 simcard

  • if you trust Topcashback, they're offering $50 back on the $230 sim direct from Boost… but you need to activate it within 28days

Cashrewards were offering $60 cash back. The problem was trying to get a transaction to go through on the Boost website without errors. See the comments in this thread for details:

  • Or Officeworks price match and discount.

    • +1

last time I tried Officeworks rejected Lucky Mobile (can’t remember their exact reasoning though)

      • Price matching at Ofcewrks is a bit dodgy in terms of prepaid mobile. They give diff reasons not to such as not matching product code…

        • I have found some OW stores match these Lucky Mobile and some dont -worth a try if you have one near by

  • Can this be converted to an esim after purchase? Assume this supports 5G?

    • +1

Yes can be converted to esim
Yes 5g speed cap at 150mbps

  • +1

$189 at OZ Tech Biz if you wanna save a dollar

    • Link please

  • If I buy now and activate end of November, will I still get the 170GB?
Asking as on the Boost website it states

“Includes 170GB on activation for new customers. Activate by 21 October 2024.
Last chance, SIM unavailable from 21 October 24.”

    • +1

      Nah, checked with boost.
U need to activate it before 21st oct 2024

      • Thanks

  • +1

If u dont mind optus network, catch mobile offer good value atm

    • It's saying $205?

From personal experiences Boost is worst now. Was good earlier, but nowadays it shows 5G network but don’t even open a webpage. Fishy network.
Have ported out after a month of buying an annual plan.

    • 100% agree. I am on Boost and can't wait for my plan to run out early December.

When I work from the office in the city, it is so painful to load webpages and videos etc on 5G!

Which network did you end up on? Is it better? Also, in your scenario, I assume you would not get a refund on the annual plan?

      • I am fighting for it who knows if i get something or not.
Moved to Telstra’s own network ( i know boost uses Telstra’s network ) as voda optus are also the same as boost.
Telstra is bit better than Boost.
I think in city as well telstra should work, i don’t usually go to the city.

  • FWIW I transferred to boost from mainline Telstra and it’s nowhere near as good coverage or speeds. I’ll be going back to Telstra when the sim runs out.

    • A lot of people kept parrotting that Boost uses the full Telstra network and there aren't any difference.
When I was on Boost, there was always a level of service degradation compared to when I was on an actual Telstra sim.

This was before the speed caps were introduced.

  • Seems to be out of stock now? Only on sale available is the $230 Prepaid boost SIM (170GB) Sim Expiry date 11-04-2026 for $200

  • Any return of stock?
