Teenagers - Which Hair Powder to Use?

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a hair styling powder product for teenagers?

My son is 14 having thin and straight hair. He is into this heavy fringe tapered style hair cut (as every 2nd teen I see has it) and wants to buy hair styling powder. I'm looking for recommendations from other parents. Just worried about chemicals going into his hair at early age.

Thanks in advance.

Just do what I do. Work in a dusty, dirty environment while sweating a lot. The next part is very important, DON'T wash your hair when you shower.
Do that every day for a week and you'll be looking good.

American crew, very basic ingredient list (if it wasn't for the silica it'd probably be edible). It just absorbs oils and thickens, it's pretty basic stuff.

    • Thanks mate, I'll have a look.

  • Uppercut. Otherwise Schwarzkopf is a slightly cheaper option

op, just to clarify, are you looking for hold, or are you looking for product to give illusion of volume (as the hair is thin/straight)
i also have thin/straight hair and i found Schwarzkopf got2b powder pretty good decent hold AND volumising. The problem is it gets EVERYWHERE if you try and self apply to head in an even fashion. The alternative is to put it onto hands, and work into hair but i feel the distribution isnt as good.

As for how good it is for broccoli hair , cant say sorry.

    • Thanks mate for the recommendation. He is looking for bit of both and I'll get him to try the Schwarzkopf got2b powder. I just had a look at the ingredients and they don't too bad.

Oh noes be careful of the chemicals going into their hair, they're only 14 and could become addicted.

  • Watch There’s Something About Mary as there’s a natural hair gel used in one scene

  • Teenagers, - do you like movies about gladiators?

Hi rush123. I also have thin and straight hair. For years and years I had been looking for a good product to add volume and thickness to my hair. Last year I finally found something that works awesome for this hair type. It's called Eleven Australia Dry Shampoo Volume Paste. I highly recommend you give it a try.
Basically once you get out of the shower, you towel dry your hair so it's only slightly damp. Scrape a little bit of the volume paste onto the end of your finger and then rub it in between the palm of your hands until its all rubbed in. Then work it all through through your hair starting at the roots. Once that's done, give it a quick blow dry on low/medium heat, then style it to your liking.

If you need something with with more hold, you can either give it a quick hair spray (I recommend Tresemme Hair Spray Extra Hold)
Or you can use another product from Eleven called Extra Hold Styling Clay - Using this in combination with the Dry Shampoo Volume Paste will make your hair super thick, with plenty of hold. Gives you that nice "beach hair"

    • Great suggestion, thanks for sharing. I'll have a look.

  • Maybe treat him to a perm?
