      A safe assumption to make, considering:

      • There is no mention in the terms and conditions of variable load denominations being excluded.

      • The TCN Kids, TCN Teens and Uber gift cards pictured in the catalogue are the variable load denomination.

      • There are daily purchase limits specifically listed for the TCN Kids and TCN Teens gift cards in the terms and conditions.

      Did it last night.

      Got 4x $500 cards, 2 on my rewards account and 2 with wife's reward account, worked without a hitch.

      So have $100 in points bonus in each of our accounts for groceries and will use the gift cards at JB for Xbox console launch at end of month.

      Ps. Confirm you get the points on the screen with register before you pay for it! (Should say 20,000 rewards)

      with this deal you pay $100, so it's just over 9% off overall.

        it depends what the scope of the discount is, if your mental model includes both the GC and groceries as being available at a discount then you're right - you are getting 9% off both gift card and groceries

        not everyone thinks like that, I see it as 10% discount off the GC in the form of non-discounted groceries

      Still seems to be the case:

      The Card is redeemable for full price standalone Premium Individual subscription months only and cannot be redeemed for discounted or group subscriptions (such as Premium Student, Premium Duo, Premium Family, trial offers, or offers combining Premium with other companies' products or services). The card cannot be redeemed for Spotify Basic subscriptions.

      I have never seen a TCN Gift gift card sold in a variable load denomination. I have only ever seen Woolworths sell $30, $50 and $100 fixed denominations.

            @Dienk: Lately Woolworths have been applying the purchase limits to each individual card in an offer rather than as an overall limit, meaning it may actually be possible to buy two $500 TCN Kids and two $500 TCN Teen gift cards on the same day.

            Also, the two purchase limits are separate so you should also be able to buy ten of the $50 or $30 denominations of those cards on top. Theoretically, you could potentially buy $3,700 worth of JB Hi-Fi compatible gift cards in a single day if you bought ten each of the $50 Gift, $50 Kids and $50 Teen cards plus two each of the $500 Kids and $500 Teen and then two $100 Gift.

            For anyone willing to try it, the checkout screen will tell you how many points you have earned after you hit Pay Now so you can confirm before actually parting with any money.

    Anyone know if you can use the KIDS gift card to buy a gift card in store? I was wanting to buy something from Nike online however I'm not able too. So I was planning in going in store and purchasing a Nike gift card using the KIDS gift card.

      It is against the terms and conditions of the TCN gift card scheme to use it to purchase any gift cards.

      1. The Card cannot be used towards the purchase of any other gift cards or vouchers at participating merchants.

      It would largely be up to the participating retailer (in your hypothetical situation, Nike) to enforce this.

      Having said that, the bigger question is whether Nike gift cards exist in Australia and can be used on their online.

        T's and C's mention it's in store only with limit 2 a day for $100 cards, so to get you 1400 you must have emptied the whole shelf with 50's and 30's over a few days?

        Is there a variable top up card you can do the 1400 in one shot and still get the 20x points?

          The Kids and Teen come in the variable so you can get 2 x $500 then 8 x $50. You might be able to get a 3rd variable as long as it's not the same as the other two $500s. The T&Cs aren't clear but you can see how many points before you pay so if doesn't you can just cancel the transaction.

    I got my cards but had a brain fart and accidentally got $300 of the baby ones (I needed to get $50 for a 1st birthday this weekend) and forgot I can't use it at JB. I got my iPhone 16 Pro in the end (I couldn't be bothered walking back to Woolworths so I just paid the $300).

    It appears there are two versions of the Gift card, one appears plastic and the other maybe cardboard and contains a green recycle ♻️ symbol on the back. The plastic ones can be exchanged for Good Guys vouchers online and the cardboard ones can’t. Very odd, and slightly annoying.

    Edit: in fact, seems the cardboard ones need to be registered first and then swapped and the plastic ones you can swap without registering. All sorted :)

      I am confused. You can't use the TCN gift card directly at the Good Guys? I am planning to make a big purchase in store with the Good Guys. I really don't wanna get stung by showing up with a stack and couldn't use it like a normal credit card.

        If you have a look at the TCN Gift gift card webpage, it says there are currently two redemption options for The Good Guys:

        • In-store: the gift card can be redeemed like any other eftpos card (i.e. ask to pay by card, swipe on the EFTPOS terminal, select Savings, enter PIN and press Enter).

        • Online: you need to go to the TCN website to exchange the full or partial balance for a digital The Good Guys gift card that is emailed to you.

        In other words, if you want to use a TCN Gift gift card in-store, you can use it directly at The Good Guys. However, if you want to use a TCN Gift gift card online, you cannot use it directly at The Good Guys, because the TCN Gift gift card is an eftpos-only card that cannot support online transactions.

        Another reason you may want to exchange a TCN Gift gift card for a The Good Guys gift card (even if you are going to make a purchase in-store) is that a participating retailer may leave (or be removed from) the TCN gift card scheme at any time without notice. This is clearly listed as a clause in the TCN gift card terms and conditions, and this is what happened with eBay earlier this year. I doubt The Good Guys would actually disappear tomorrow, but you never know.
