  • Would you recommend this for treadmill?

    • +4

If your feet doesn't need protection from the elements on the road when you are running on the treadmill, why don't you just go barefoot, literally?

      • +3

        yucky gym treadmill?

    • +4

Don't see why not - but if these are your first barefoot shoes, gotta start super gentle. Check out youtube for guides how to do it safely.

    • For indoor use, I think EVO is $10 cheaper:

        read that as pterodactylism

I doubt they have sizes that large…

I thought GTA V was bleeding into reality for a moment.

I can only imagine the increased stress on your joints and wear with these.

    • +3

be careful. the barefoot truthers are going to come for you now

    • According to this link it increases stress on some joints and decreases it with others

    • You'll need to relearn to walk in these. You can't heel strike. I don't use barefoot shoes, but I walk on the balls of my feet in rainy weather, and that's how you have to walk in these shoes until it becomes natural.

    • If you run like most people do yes it will. You run un-naturally with "normal" shoes as they allow you to land heel first. One you start to run landing on balls of feet first you decrease stress on joints and your calves act as big shock absorbers. Yes after 15 years of playing bball and knee operation I only run in barefoot shoes. Do your research or comment from experience next time.

  • But my socks have grouped my fingers into one.

  • Would love a pair of these but don't have anywhere that stocks them locally so don't know my size!

  • +1

    Thats some expensive feet gloves

  • +3

Had a pair of these about 11 years ago that cost half this price. They were pretty great as an everyday shoe, gave my feet a good workout.

  • +2

Bought TSLA ones from Amazon yesterday for $45 and ran 9k today and they are better than expected.

These are a copy of Merrel Vapor Glove.

    • Got those. Much thicker sole, no toe separation -> chafing & blisters, unless wearing toe socks.

      • Yeah toe socks are a must for me. Real life changer.

Try applying some vasline between your toes for reduced friction if you don't use toe socks.

        • I just stopped running in anything that's not 5fingers, and that helped w so many things, including shin splints the toe issues.

I find that whenever I need to run for short distances in conventional shoes, I still adopt the barefoot running style (side/middle strike, minimal vertical oscillation).

  • Wow remember these were like $79 or something a few years back.

  • I tried using these on my five fingers but gave it up quick. Hand walking is difficult.

  • I've had a couple pairs of Five-Finger shoes in the past. Never ran on hard surfaces with them, but have done a couple of those obstacle courses in them as well as group fitness classes. I like them but they're pretty over-priced imo. I imported mine from America at a time the AUD was stronger, still have them though haven't worn for some time.

I wouldn't get them to run in unless you've spend considerable time practicing to run barefoot.

Finally, something I can wear on my flight and not be told to put my shoes on
