Lazy… I was only checking quickly from phone. 😉

      • You can just set the currency on the website itself.

The usual thing with multi-currency stores: change the currency to USD and pay with some card which has a better exchange rate than the store itself.

  • This work on Mac?

    • Yes for Java version and no, bedrock edition won’t work on Mac.

      • Looks like you’re right. That’s a bit odd.

        • Ok thanks
So just buying this from CD Keys will allow me to use Java edition on my Mac

          • @AndrewMTG: Have you tried running it on linux? Thats what I bought it for. Apparently there's a way to do it, which would make it the cheapest legitimate version of minecraft, but I haven't had the time to try it

            • @outlander: Wdym ? Run bedrock version on Linux ?

Why do that when can run normal java version lol

  • How is this any different from Xbox / Switch, etc versions… sorry I don't know much about MC (I'm more retro than that) but my kids loving it at the moment.

    Cheers

Bedrock is basically the same as the Xbox/Switch versions.

Java is the original version - and the main reason to play on PC. It has significantly worse performance, and (to the best of my knowledge) little or no controller support, but supports modding. The modding scene is very healthy, with all sorts of mods and modpacks, ranging from small gameplay improvements & pretty shader/graphics packs through to complete industrial or magic systems built ontop of base minecraft. I really enjoy this aspect of it - I run a minecraft server for a bunch of friends, and every 3-6 months we decide to try something new, find a new modpack and start over.

The Java version also has zero microtransactions outside of optional cloud server hosting (which is not required to host a server, if you know how to forward ports, you can host your own server for free). You can make completely custom skins that other players can see, import premade worlds, join any custom server and use custom texture packs, all for free. There is no concept of "Minecoins" in Java edition.

        • @Talaii and @Jonzay thank you both!

  • Thanks OP.

Got it (finally) as my kids has been bugging me for months/years.

School holidays saviour (balanced with outdoor play / excusions / etc…)

  • Is there any way to share this over multiple accounts on the same PC? Have kids and would rather not purchase multiplw times.

    • You can't share over accounts but if you don't sign in within Minecraft itself, you can install on multiple PCs and play over LAN. I assume the same would work if you log in with different user accounts on the PC and install for each user but don't log in (profiles will stay local). Might be a problem if they want minecoins to buy stuff though.

  • Please be kind - my daughter wants to start playing Minecraft on my gaming pc, do I just buy this key to use and away she goes?

  • looking for minecraft bedrock for my kid to play on ipad..
