Ozito PXC 18V Cordless Blower and Grass Trimmer Kit $99 + Delivery ($0 C&C/In-Store) @ Bunnings

71

Another day another tool, was looking at a line trimmer deal from Dewalt and came across this deal from Bunnings.

I personally have used the blower and think that it provides great value. For this price is comes with the trimmer as well which I have not tried. Thought I'd share this deal with people who might need this. Comes with battery and charger as well.

The bigger trimmer is never on special. I have this one and its nice but those plastic blades does suck a bit

    • +3

I tried using zip ties instead of the plastic blade, credits to some random guy in FB

      • +1

        Does that work well?

Yeah this grass trimmer is pretty crap tbh, those things fly out no matter what

        • +1

Yeh guys, the trimmer isn't worth your time.

I had one of these, got frustrated at the blades repeatedly flying off and went and got myself a Ryobi 36V whipper snipper.

Does the job in half the time without the hassle of stopping to change blades, wish I had got it sooner!

After I modified it, it works great. This is an upgraded version. I purchased the part on AliExpress for about $5 (Bundle deals).

      • Can you link where you got that part on AliExpress and guide to install it please?

          • @jimojr: Thank you legend

          • @jimojr:

            Washing machine diameter: approx. 24mm/0.94"

            Wait, what?

          • @jimojr: What do you use when you need to replace the line?

            • +1

@EBC: I use this and change it about once a year. I think this star-shaped trimmer line is better than the round one for this low-power machine.

          • +1

@jimojr: I got this one but seems impossible to install. The hole is too big..how did you do it?

            • @Bargainolic: This is what is wondering as well, received today and no way it fit.

              • @4kbargain: I have now managed to fit it using a washer to the bolt

                • @Bargainolic: Any chance you could share how you did it? Seems like a bunch of us got this one but can't fit it! Did you just need a bigger washer than the one supplied?

I had a look at mine again, and the issue is the screw that holds the original plastic blade mounting plate is too large to be caught by the washer supplied. And even if it did, I don't think I would be able to tighten it down enough to properly fasten it.

Edit: Looked at the above photos again and realised it is mounted to the original plate, not replacing it. So is it just that you got a smaller washer?

                  • +1

@EBC: There was no washer in the package delivered to me. I had one at hand and used that. You could buy one that the screw can go through

                    • @Bargainolic: Ah okay interesting. That's good to know. I will give that a go tomorrow. Thanks!

      • Really keen to get a link to the part as well

      • I have the same mod but notice the end comes undone if i get too low and it touches the ground since tightening is the opposite direction to how the motor spins so I have to keep stopping and tighten it so it doesn't come apart.

        Do you notice that too?

edit: with the standard, not the upgraded one.

      • Wow. Thanks for this. $2.45 shipped. Bargain!

pretty sure $99 is the regular price, not a deal

    • +1

I thought this was the regular price for the blower as I purchased this before, didn't know there was the included trimmer with battery and faster charger for this price so I thought I would share for those who are in the market for a blower and a freebie.

      • the blower you bought is a different model
The regular price for this trimmer and blower kit is $99

        • Cool, but even still the blowers look identical specs wise, if anything the one posted on this deal looks better than the one I purchased with an addition of split tube (not sure what this is for) and the added 2.5ah battery and fast charger is definitely a bonus over the one I bought which was a 2.0ah and regular charger.

Thanks for letting me know though didn't know it was always this price, just thought I would share this to people who are in the market for a blower + freebie. Have a good one man

      • pics in that one show a different charger. Not sure if it is better than what I think is the more 'standard' one.

(also gotta laugh at the pic for the kit one with the seven small leaves on the outdoor chair. "Oh look there are some leaves. I could just pick them up with one hand and put them in the bin or compost heap (etc), but I'm gonna get that blower and make them so they go on the ground under the table.")

    • You are correct, this is the regular price:

Grass trimmer uses plastic blades and is crap. Have tried hacks to get line on it but too inconvenient and inconsistent. Happy to get rid if anyone wants to buy.

Blower is basic - just gets leaves off the deck or driveway. Lasts 15 mins with the supplied battery

    • +1

Agreed. Comment above about zip ties, might give that a whirl but will definitely get rid of it soon if that doesn't work

I have the line trimmer and it’s great for small-medium jobs, but on a larger yard I’d do it in stages or want a better trimmer

  • +1

i’ve got both, but never had any issues. When the plastic blade is very worn down, then it will fly off, but that is just a sign for me to replace the blade, never get a fresh one flying off. if you’re careful and not grind it again the fence, then the blade will not wear as fast and not fly off.

battery life never been an issue, as i have the mower if it does run out (happened once or twice) use whatever juice is left in the mower batteries.

  • If you really want a whipper snipper I'd probably recommend against this one. I've had one for years and while it gets the job done, using actual line is far more efficient. It runs way better on a 4ah battery too.

  • Is it really that bad 👎

  • +1

Ill be honest, for a quick tidy up this thing is great. I have a brushcutter with blade for heavy stuff, but this has been great for maintenance without the fuel and noise.
    And yes, normal pricing

  • Agree with all the comments here on plastic tabs flying off. An exercise in frustration. Have tried cheap tabs, Bosch tabs, and all lead to the same result. You'll find them flung all around the garden too. Cheap, yes - but will be the first thing I upgrade in garden kit.

  • Anyone in Sydney want the grass trimmer + 2.5ah battery and fast charger for $69? I'm only interested in the blower skin

    • let's do 50-50 mate, blacktown

  • The grass trimmer is fine as long as you do not hit anything hard like a wall or cement path or fence. It has it's uses. When I do the path or trim close to the path or do the weeds I use a line trimmer. It would be best used for a regularly maintained lawn, if it is overgrown forget it, you need a petrol based trimmer. For edges forget that too, only if maintaining an edge, not making it. Small lawn too.

    • absolutely, works great, i just go off the pitch, when it sounds like i bogs down release and go again, usually when you are hitting something solid or gigantic prehistoric co2 levels of kikuyu roots, pulsing in this scenario to push thru something thick works well - rarely do you lose a blade prematurely, even the cheap non-official ones

yes and even the tiny, single battery 18v mower works really well as long as you don't let the lawn overgrow in the summer, even once every 2 months it'll be fine but better if you are hitting it monthly

even in the rewiews you have people complain with lawns that are almost a meter high with weed, a freaking 2 stroke will struggle, come on now!

      • I bought cheap blades from ebay recently, seems to last okay.
In summer I don't think I would get away with more than two weeks without mowing, winter 1-2 months would be okay.
When I first used it I was thinking it was not going to go well, looks a toy that tiny little single blade.
You can get metal/stainless steel blades too but I think that could be dangerous if it goes flying.
