Will NAB Refund (Pro-Rated) Credit Card Fee if Cancelled Part Way through The Year?

I signed up to a NAB credit card nearly 12 months ago to get the bonus QFF points. There are additional bonus if you stay beyond the initial 12 months. My question is, if I stay until I get the second lot of bonus points and then cancel, will they refund the annual card fees (or pro-rated card fees)?

YMMV but i tried asking twice few days apart, already hit my target within 2 weeks to qualify for points, cashed it out, but they said straight out no .

  • was thinking of doing the same thing for my Citi prestige once points are collected. Should I not be bothered?

Worth trying a 2 minute call to see. Likely the service rep won't be able to do it even if they wanted to though.

      • yeah makes sense. Citi prestige annual fees are pretty hefty so will give it a go. Cheers.

  • Yearly fees just increased for nab too, no?

  • Might be a silly question, but are you sure you're still getting annual fees?

My NAB card was an annual fee when I signed up in Jan this year but it's now been changed to a monthly fee - which is waived if you spend a certain amount each month (not an issue for me as it's my main points earning card currently).

    • I have not seen anything about changing to monthly fee and the same card is still advertised as annual fee, so I think it's still annual

  • They've stopped doing this unfortunately.

  • Tried to ask for a refund. Refused!
