Virgin Money Is Rubbish at Processing Credit Card Requests

I recently (5weeks now) applied for a credit card and the online portal was unable to verify my identity.

Then the face 2 face identity verification also failed.

I called the texted number, and the fella on the phone said it was now resolved.

To only be mailed another hard copy form to verify my identity with the post office.

I’ve never had this experience with the Australian banks.

Apologies for the vent, but has anyone else had a shit time dealing with Virgin Money?

    Never had an issue with Virgin Money (NAB). Maybe your ID was flagged as stolen due to a data breach?

    Not me. I've done the process twice and they seem pretty simple.

    As others have mentioned, seems like your ID may have been compromised in some way.

  • All my family have applied for Virgin Credit Cards in the last 2 years and with no issues, was a painless application process.
    Sounds like your ID might be the issue, for whatever reason that may be.

  • Yes, they are. I went through the same scenario you did.

    My partner applied and her application hung for weeks. She called up to query, and they said the system had flagged her because of her last name was the same as a politician. It is not an uncommon surname.

    why did this fail ??? - you haven't elaborated.

    Obviously, something else going on that you haven't said in your OP post.

    As someone else said - Virgin utilise NAB for backend/CC … so if failing with Virgin == will also fail with NAB.
    Best you look at reasons why.
