Electric Pizza Oven Suggestions

Fellow Bargaineers I need your help in choosing a pizza oven.

Ever since the Trailmaster pizza oven deal from Spotlight, I have taken up pizza making as a hobby and experimenting beyond Vito's recipes however here comes the conflict.

I want to move away from using Gas and use electric for personal reasons that I cannot disclose. I understand gas is great and creates beautiful pizzas but alas I'm being forced to either give up my hobby or move to electric.

Here are the options I have looked at so far, based on the following criteria;

  • Needs to be able to make 12 inch pizzas
  • Be able to hit 400 degrees Celsius
  • Needs to be able to make back to back (5~ min reheat up time in between) for home events
  • 10amp
  • Open to buying used or refurbished.
  • Be able to make both Neopolitan and New York style

Bonus
- Be able to cook other things like pizza sandwiches or flatbread, the trail master even if turned to the lowest would typically burn at the top due to its low ceiling.

Cozze 13" pizza oven

HIZO E12 Electric Pizza Oven

Effeuno Electric Pizza Oven P134H509

Ooni Volt

I'm realistically not wanting to spend anywhere near $2k for the Effeuno but maybe considering trying to import their new N3 line since its cheaper but concerned about voltage etc.

Help a fellow aspiring pizza guy, Thanks.

Pity you didn't ask about gas, as I have both Cozze and Hizzo pizza ovens in gas and both are very unique in the way they cook, I don't know if that's the same with their electric versions.

    • Honestly, I was really set on one of gozey pizza ovens previously but am devastated too.

Would you consider a wood fired oven? Easily gets to 400.

    • unforunately not, smoke would be an issue for us.

  • I have a Baccarat pizza oven and I've been happy with it. Kids are fairly impressed with the results.

    • I have the same Baccarat pizza oven, it is really impressive for the price. But from what I read on other forums most people are put off just because of the price and how basic it is thinking it is not good enough….. You know, it needs to be super expensive to be good….. (being sarcastic)

  • Isn’t breville the ozbargain favourite?

believe it makes closer to 10inch pizzas but fantastic machine.

  • Have you tried your fan forced oven yet? I can make Dominos style pizzas in a cast iron skillet in the oven. The secret is to brush the pan with oil, it fries the dough.

pan fried is very yummy and perfect for scillion pizza styles but for traditional neopolitan, won't work unfortunately.

Another thought - have you considered a pizza steel in your oven? Cooks pizzas in about 7min and no reheat time, just switch out the cooked pizza for the next one

    • great for new york style, not so great for neopolitan

You sure there's not something else you could give up, instead?

    • give up on this forum lol
