Low key convinced they made the camera control button to change case sizes again. Apple refuse to let people reuse any cases.

    • +3

Actually, the 16 is 0.2 inches longer in length so, regardless of the camera control button, new cases need to be made.

      • +3

Only the Pro is bigger. The Amateur is the same size, just with a different camera layout so the old holes won't line up.

    • it has a bigger screen so its a longer phone anyway

      Apples carbon neutral my arse!!

      • -1

lol yeah if they really care about carbon neutral, they shud release once in three or four yrs nowadays. As there’s not much upgrades.

    • +1

The phones are different sizes though?

  • Not sure if you can price beat it at OW since it’s on clearance

  • +3

For clearance items , they're still pricey.

  • dammit they are online only so can't really take my chance in just going to a big W to pick one up…..

Nope, its a 'Market Place' very annoying. Same with Bunning. shits me off.

        Incorrect

Sold & shipped by BIG W

If it’s marketplace, it’d have said shipped by a different seller

I’d imagine the stock isn’t in Big W stores anymore and may be at their central warehouse

Apple's silicone case is easily the worst phone case I've ever owned. The lip around it was not sufficient enough to protect the screen from damage (first damaged screen for me in ~9 years), and the silicone coating holds onto any oil it comes into contact with and gets sticky and gross. I regret getting it. Should've just done what I do every phone upgrade and get a generic $25 black plastic cheapie from Amazon, never an issue with those.

      Thanks, saved my $

      • Here's my two cents in regard to Apple's silicone case,

My phone took a decent fall out of my lap getting out of my friends 4WD, landed head first on its top left hand corner with a loud crack. Straight away I thought its screen and back glass would be smashed for sure, to my surprise neither were broken.
The silicone case has a major ding in it but is still ok even though it feels weakened in that corner and I'm guessing the Belkin screen protector saved the screen.

jbird84 is right about the silicone case holding on to crap, but nothing some screen cleaning spray and a micro fibre cloth can't fix. I don't know about jbird but I clean my phone and case once a week and I'm not sure where all that oil is coming from but it sounds like jbird doesn't wash his hands too often.

Sure, go ahead and put a a $1800 phone in a generic $25 black plastic cheapie from Amazon, but make sure you get AppleCare so a screen or back glass replacement costs $45 instead of $450👍🏻.

        • Or use a credit card that offers smart phone insurance and roll as team no case.

          • @OzzyBrak: Credit Card
            Smart Phone Insurance
            Team No Case

            Yeesh, no, no and no.
I'll buy AppleCare, then walk into the Apple store and pay $45 for a new screen and if I break the screen again, it'l be $45 the next time unlike the excess going up on the next claim using the credit card smart phone insurance.

            • @scooba:

Smartphone Screen Cover provides cover for up to $500, for up to two events a year, when you pay for your smartphone with your eligible American Express Card, either outright or on a monthly contract. A 10% excess applies to the claimed amount.

And you save $229 on apple care.

              • @OzzyBrak: So how much does the excess go up after the "two events" per year or let me guess, you only get 2 events per year?

Also, so first you have to apply for the credit card, then be approved for the credit card, then smash your phone screen, then make an smart phone insurance claim via your "eligible" credit card which you had to use to buy your phone in the first place,

versus AppleCare which is $229 and has unlimited events for 2 years which cost $45 for a screen or back glass, or $149 for any other damage.

You can keep your credit card mate👍🏻.

@scooba: You need to cut back on the piss if you need more than two screen replacements a year. For people bright enough to already have a credit card that has smartphone insurance it’s a quick 10% excess with no need for $229 for apple care. It’s the smarter way to do it.

                  • @OzzyBrak: True, you'd have to be pretty clumsy to break more than a screen and back glass twice in one year don't you, although those people do exist, p1ss related or not.

So people have to be "bright enough" to have a credit card these days, how cute lol.

                    "Smarter way to do it"
Not the best choice of words considering you didn't mention the interest rate of the card in question or the increase in excess after "two events" or the fact that you don't get any more than "two events" per year.

But I'll take you at your word,
credit cards = bright people only who cut back on the p1ss and are part of the no case brigade.
AppleCare = everyone else that can afford $229 that don't play the points game on credit cards.

I love how people use credit to make themselves look wealthy then say "you've just got to be bright enough to use the credit card insurance & you get points as well bro"🙄😂.

                    • @scooba: Enjoy wasting $229 a year. Hand in your Ozbargain card on your way out. All the best.

                      • @OzzyBrak: Oh my, you still won't answer my questions.

                        That's $229 for 2 years of AppleCare son, so that's $114.50 a year.

You're talking about credit card smartphone insurance and you're telling ME to hand in my OzBargain licence, lol.

                        Thanks for playing👍🏻
