Got one - Cheapest way yet to add AA/CP to car without having to fiddle with any internal to the car.

No point rehashing the details on the amazon page. Here is my personal review

For $73 Bucks
- Deliverd to your door
- Comes with external mic which works okay when clipped the driver side visor - Better than the 2016 Corolla built in mic.
- Mouting could be better but it works for where i want to place it.
- Auto brightness which is a nice plus for something so cheap
- Uses cig port - no further fussing.
- Come with a few cable managing sticky tabs which was also nice.
- Has a wireless remote to give you steering control.
- Audio is via AUX in….. can do other methods but i couldn't be bothered messing with it.

Cons
- Wireless remote has a spinny wheel to control volume which extremely sensitive. - Not amazing if you tend to palm the wheel (but you can always stick it somewhere else on the car).

      exactly & for $75 (aliexpress) you can buy a 10" unit with reverse camera & all the cables, great unit no lag & 2 different mounts

      You can get similar, but these ATOTO ones have a very nice matte screen which is very bright. It also works a lot more reliably than those real cheapo ones.

          Item code FK297286. Search it on Temu.
          Rates have been increased since for 10.25 inch but you can create a new ID and avail 50% cashback from Cashrewards or buy from Aliexpress. Same stuff pretty much!

    can I stream movies through this tomtotally distract me from other road users and my surroundings? I find driving in general.sucj a bore and need something to take my mind off it…. seriously. can I play movies through this for the kids in the back seat and mount it to the head rest?

      No, AA/Carplay won't let you do that.

      Just get a cheap tablet, this requires you to pair your phone for AA/car play

        carplay won't but some units have usb / sd card slots which you can use to watch, don't recommend it while driving obviously

          There are versions of these that have their own Android OS. Since it's not plugged into a trigger in the car (ie. Doesn't check to see if it's in Park) you can run whatever on it like YouTube.

          In saying that, they are painfully slow, much better to just get a $100 tablet to begin with.

            @krisspy: Got an example of one that has its own Android OS rather than using AA/CP? I'm particularly looking for the tablet style form factor, rather than one that mounts inside the dash DIN-style

    Your existing car volume control still works. The remote is just needed for play/pause and skip-track/advert. Glue the wheel?

    Installed as pictured, this device could get you a ticket for obstructing your vision (and arguably should). Not a joke. It's happened to more than one person I've known myself.
