Redeem Your Gift Card - No More PayID

Hello,

In the past I have used PayID to pay for my gift cards fee-free, besides a $1 processing fee, from "Redeem Your Gift Card" but I suspect they have changed this and now charge a ~2% surcharge no matter what.

I'm wondering if it's still possible to pay with PayID on Redeem Your Gift Card to avoid fees.
If not, can anyone recommend me a good place to buy discounted EB Games gift cards?

Thanks

Have you already checked the Discounted Gift Card Wiki? That has a list of online gift card portals that sell EB Games gift cards at a discount everyday.

Alternatively, keep an eye out for sales of multi-retailer gift cards that include EB Games. For example, the Ultimate gift card scheme includes EB Games as a participating retailer, and ALDI is selling selected Ultimate gift cards at 10% off starting Wednesday (and some of these gift cards feature EB Games as a participating retailer).

    • Hello Wookie and thankyou for the information.

I will probably take advantage of the discounted cards at Aldi.
      I notice that there's a limit of 5x $50 gift cards for a total of $250.
I require $1500 worth. Is there a way around the limit? I can pay in cash and do it on multiple days-trips, will this work?

      • The Ultimate Everyone gift card is available in a $100 denomination, so that may be the best least worst option for you. The only issue is that it is one of the only options available in $100 through the ALDI deal, so there will probably be stiff competition for that particular denomination.

The limit of 5 gift cards per customer is actually the maximum number of gift cards that you can purchase in one transaction. Whether you can purchase more in a separate transaction will be up to the store staff. If you go to a different store (or go to the same store on a different day), you can buy more gift cards, as long as staff will let you (and as long as there is stock available).

You may want to check first with EB Games whether there is a limit to the number of Ultimate gift cards you can redeem in one transaction. I have never seen anyone on OzBargain talk about the largest number of Ultimate gift cards they redeemed at EB Games.

        • Hello again Wookie and thanks.

The problem with the 'Everyone gift card' is that it cannot be used at EB Games.

I only have 1 Aldi in my city, so I might try buying 5x cards on separate trips and transactions. I'm sure that will satisfy the condition.

I will also check with EB Games about the limit of Ultimate Gift Cards they will allow.

          Thankyou for the valuable information.

I'm still curious if there's a way to avoid the fees on Redeem Your Gift Card.

It does. The Ultimate gift card website for the Everyone gift card has the EB Games logo.

Ahhh, I see. If you live in a particularly small city, you probably won't have much competition to deal with!

I just checked the ART portal for RYGC by adding a $500 EB Games gift card to my cart, and I only had the option to pay via Visa or Mastercard (which incurs the 1% processing fee).

  • I would just like to update this with some information:

Even though it has the "EB Games" logo on the $100 Everyone gift card, ultimategiftcards.com.au informs me that it will not work with EB Games.
They suggested to purchase the "$50 Teens" Gift card.

I spoke to my local Aldi about how many of these I could buy and they told me that they personally don't care how many people buy except there are some people that come in and buy all of them leaving nothing for others.
So, they told me that I could buy 6 per day.

    • Can you see an option to exchange the Ultimate Everyone gift card for a digital EB Games gift card through the Ultimate gift card exchange portal? If so, that means you can at least convert your Ultimate Everyone gift card into a digital EB Games gift card.

Instructions on how to do an exchange can be found on the Ultimate gift card website under the Exchange for an eGift Card section.

      • Hello again,

When I went in and attempted to buy 5x $50 Ultimate Teen Gift Cards I was charged full price for them.
