I’ve got some Cobras thanks to other deals here. These seem to go for at least $88 elsewhere and Amazon Germany reckon they are 50% off.

Hopefully they can undo the nut in our laundry (not referring to myself).

Mod Update 23/9: Price has dropped from $54.80 to $42.12

  • Vise grip: https://amzn.asia/d/aAu3jqv

Surely a Vise Grip would do a better job?
Knipex on sale for $34.88, 20%off. Cracking tool!! Sooo versatile. Really locks on to almost anything.

Don’t get me wrong, this tool from OP looks awesome, but surely a vice grip will be superior in this situation.

I suspect the vice group will definitely work with your laundry night. The only downside is the vice grip will leave some teethmarks (steady on) on the nut, but thats okay, if you don’t mind a few teeth marks….on your nut(s) (OMG)

    Anyhow….get a Vise Grip.

    Teeth marks!!

“Vise Grip” is the original brand name, much like Panadol, or Hoover, or Colgate.

But now, there are heaps of other copycat brands who make vice grips.

Vise grips/locking pliers don't have flat faces so you're always working on the corners of any nut. That's how you end up with rounded nuts (if yours weren't round to start with). OP's tool works on the flats, has an element of self adjustment, a smaller head for fitting into tight spaces and, if used in the correct orientation, self tightens as you turn the nut/bolt.

If you like locking pliers, have a look at the automatic ones from CH Hanson. You don't set the jaw spacing, you set the jaw pressure. That means you can set the pressure on something easily accessible of any size, then reach into that awkward space to grasp that thing you don't know the exact size of and grip it with a known force, rather than going at it multiple times until you get the grip force right. I have a few of them and they're so much handier than the traditional type (which still have their place at times).
