Best thing since sliced bread. Got it for $29.99 at Amcal in Newcastle.

    • Yep, this stuff is great

    • +1

Haven’t tried this but have tried so many others that failed, is this any good?

      • +1

I also tried everything, but have been on this for 3.5 years, and changed my life. Can actually breathe through my nose 👃

        • +1

same for this entire year. whats in it that others dont have

        • +1

Have you been using it continuously for 3.5 years or just for the hay fever season? I had been using it for 1 month in the winter and I felt really good then I stopped using it for a month then the hay fever plays out again. I had to start using it again. I am a bit worried about the long term side effects. Do you have any concerns so far?

          • @sanow: Continually the whole time. No issues so far 👌

          • @sanow: Definitely a bad thing to use it long term! It's not technically addictive, but some people's use of it can be seen as addiction because you become dependent on it for being able to breathe through your nose. In addition it makes your symptoms worse after the effects wear off (especially after sustained use) so it makes it really hard to kick because your symptoms will be a lot worse when not using it compared to before you used it. Look up some stories on Reddit.

Also it's a corticosteroid so you can look up some of the long term side effects/concerns of those.

Personally I get very bad hayfever and this stuff is like magic, but I avoid it now.

            • @Castcore: Thanks, but my hay fever is getting worse and worse and I have been with a ENT specialist and it doesn't help too much. I may need to move to a warmer place where we don't need to many woven items.

              • @sanow: Understandable and I'm pretty confident this would work wonders for you as it just seems to be magic. I was just trying to point out the potential downsides for long term use.

          • @sanow:

I had been using it for 1 month in the winter and I felt really good then I stopped using it for a month then the hay fever plays out again.

            Allergic Rhinitis Treatment Pathway

            • Initially prescribe for up to 6 months with review to determine effectiveness, stop if ineffective.
            • Once symptoms controlled (6 months) treatment can be stopped.
            • If symptoms persist then continue, if the treatment is considered to be effective.
      • +2

"best thing since sliced bread" you ask "is this any good".

      • This stuff works a treat. I was getting hayfever symptoms virtually every day. After the Doc told me to try this, it turned out to be the best thing i've used. Nothing else works like it, for me. I cut back to every two or three days and still get good results.

    • thanks - deal posted :)

    • Did you have itchy eyes? Or do you know if it will help with itchy eyes?

      • Did you ever find an answer to this? Currently I'm using mometasone and loratadine which are good enough about 70% of the time and the other 30 I use zatditen (ketotifen) allergy eye drops. If this spray is effective and doesnt have any negative interactions with loratadine I might be able to use this with loratadine in addition on a bad day.

How to do price beat at cw?

    • Walk to check out, show them competitor price and you'd like price beat. Easy as!

  • +1

    I used to use these

Then it was suggested to use a saline rinse daily
Never had to use a nasal spray again

    • Suggested for what allergies? I'm assuming you use Fess?

      • Mine was a steroid based one cant remember the exact brand.

And general pollen, dust mites etc.

    • How often did you do the saline rinse daily before you felt a lot better? Hubby does it once, says it doesnt help and then doesn’t use it until I nag him the following year haha.

      • Once a day for a week and i noticed the difference

  • +2

Recommend Dymista highly for grass pollen hayfever sufferers as the season approaches, this one worked great for me last year.
Be aware after-taste in throat is more unpleasant compared to others such as nasonex, but this product is very effective.

    • yep the after-taste is quite strong. I also find myself sneezing non-stop for about 10 minutes before it all settles.

  • +3

Wasn’t this a prescription only medication?

    • +5

Yep until not so long ago, its also come down a lot in price now.

      • +2

It was cheaper for me when it was on prescription after claiming on private health insurance.

    • I remember paying $50 for it prescribed by a GP back in 2022. Crazy prices

  • +2

Told from GP that you need to use Aug or Sep then until end of hayfever season. Its may not work immediately, take a few weeks to work. If you want to use this, use it now until end of the season.

    • +3

It takes about 5 mins to work for me. I realise experiences may vary but a few weeks sounds like a stretch.

      • +1

All of my doctor mates (including an ENT surgeon) said it usually takes a few weeks to kick in. Good for you that it was immediate, but yeah, as a general rule for everyone, persist with it for a weeks, using consistently.

  • I use ryaltris and it changed my life

This product contains Fluticasone a steroid and Azelastine an antihistamine.

If you don’t want or need the steroid it’s way cheaper to buy Azelastine by itself.

    Azep or Eze.

Not so long ago I'd taken a Telfast in the morning after waking up with an allergy. By lunch my face was melting again while I was out at a plaza and I didnt have anything on me. I went into the chemist and asked for a box of Telfast, I'd said I had already taken one that morning and she recommended I try this stuff as it had just come off prescription. No more than 5 minutes after using, I felt like I was born again. This stuff is crack for heyfever sufferers.

Stick it up your nose and point it towards your ear if you find it hard to use she said.

    • Which ear lol

      • +1

Same side ear as the nostril. Dont ever cross them over!

  • I use a combo of nasonex + hayfever tablets - what's in this compared to other brands?

  • +3

Too bad we have two nostrils. That 120 dosage is going to go twice as fast

    • +4

two nostrils twice a day.. it's only 30days worth. A dollar a day.

  • +2

Dymista nasal spray can also be useful if you struggle with snoring. Sleeping on my side, nasal spray and a FLO Sinus wash before bed has made a wife a much happy camper

  • This or nasonex for cat allergy ?

    • +1

Either one is going to be difficult to spray up the cat's nose

  • +3

Careful, Don't drop the bottle on the ground. The glass cracks easily.

    • I think most glass breaks if you drop it on the ground

  • I've been using Nasonex everyday for the last few years, condition doesn't really improve, should I switch to this ? thanks

  • I don't know how you people use these things..

Mum used to force me to use it as a kid, I swear every spray gave me a mini aneurysm..

  • +1

How do you guys cope with the bitter taste that trickles down to the throat and mouth

  • In-store price is different from online. You have to ask them to price match.
