I have a similar (previous) model and this price is a steal if it performs anything like mine. Certainly as a second shaver for backup, gym bag etc it should be fine. Can't comment on the battery issues though as mine may be different.
What does one do with a shaver in a gym bag?

As a rule of thumb, the higher the number of a series, the better, more capable and more advanced the shavers
the braun series go 1,3,5,6,7,8, and 9

I had the same one for few years now, pretty happy with it. Never had issue with battery.
Is this good to use on the nether regions for a bit of manscaping? In other words, it won't nip the nutsack.
I don't think highly of the 310s but this is a reasonable price for it. I paid twice as much a number of years ago, and wasn't impressed.
There were two at Kedron, Queensland. One left as bought the other one yesterday if anyone is in the area. Hard to say no at this price. Got one as a reserve/emergency/travel when my current one dies (Braun Series 5).
