        I bought Pioneer VSX834 7.2 CH last year from eBay for $539. Not sure how it compares but excellent receiver imo.

    Agree. The Denon AVR-X1800H can be had for $759 through The Good Guys Commercial, so you can have both Atmos and 8K…

    I had a choice between top of the line aventage vs a mid range 4k Yamaha back in the days, would've been nice to have 4k capabilities right now

    75 watts per channel (8 ohm, 20 Hz–20 Khz, 0.08% 2ch drive) or 100 watts per channel (6 ohm, 1 kHz, 0.7% 2ch drive) or 150 watts per channel
    (6 ohm, 1 kHz, 10% 1ch drive) depending on your speaker impedance and number of channels driven

  Yeesh, 75 watts per channel, now it makes sense why it's $599.

  I think if anyone would want a decent receiver they'd want 100 watts a channel.
