I don't understand these expensive stubby holders. Are people really spending 20-30 minutes drinking a single can?

      I'll leave mine for ages.

    • Steel can holder? My first thought was can the can

It's not really a stubby holder to keep cans cold for 20-30 minutes while you sip it, but rather to keep cold unopened cans for hours e.g. as a cold reward after a long hike. Space and weight sometimes is an issue so a cooler bag would be too bulky for that. But you could use as a stubby holder true.

I still wouldn't get it for this price (and I hike a shit load) but I guess that's an example of real world use. But then you better off just freezing a can and let it thaw out.

      • I heard that freezing carbonated water is not a good idea. Have you tried it?

        • Definitely had exploded cans in the freezer before

I'm fairly forgetful. To "find" my drink again and it's almost ice cold is pretty fantastic

Aluminium is a great thermal conductor so I’d imagine a cold beverage won’t be cold for long in summer. Not everyone wants to down a drink in 5 minutes, and might prefer a slow sip (alcoholic or not).

I use mine mainly during summer and not having to deal with a puddle of condensation and to keep my drink ice cold for 30-60mins as I slowly drink it

The yeti one is pretty good from bcf

I'm too cheap to buy these. I wrap my cans in a small towel. Then I get a cool towel to wipe my face with and a cool drink to go with it.

  • I find the $15 Bunnings ones just as good.
