There is a discount for 40% off at checkout. Decent deal, we bought it for my son for $405 last black friday and it's been good.

    RRP and photos are the same as Koala website so you’re definitely buying the Joey Kids Mattress

    Yep same here and the matress is a decent size so should last for years of growth (or small guests!). We grabbed the bed base and matress as the Joey base is also 40% off.

  Reviews sound good, but my partner’s hesitant when we don’t get to feel it first. Anyone got one to say if the built-in mattress protector feels nice as opposed to clinical?

    I had one and returned it, it's thinner than usual (by design) so side rails on beds are higher and offer better protection. but that comes at the cost of thickness.
    When I got into bed with my kid, for story time or when they're feeling ill etc it was just uncomfortable and could feel the springs which were just soft, i felt like i was going through it.
    Whilst this is fine for a child weiging ~15-25kg, I found even sitting on the bed uncomfortable and too soft. YMMV.
    They offer a free trial/returns and was pretty much no questions asked and no issues.
