[NSW] iPhone 16 Pro Max Tomorrow without Pre-Order?

I was a clown and tried to order an iPhone 16 Pro Max, Ultra Watch 2 in Black and AirPod Max's in the same order and wasn't able to secure a pre-order for tomorrow.

I'm going to try my luck and head in store first thing tomorrow to try pick up the iPhone as last year at the Sydney store I met people who purchased without having a pre-order and more quickly than those lining up to collect their orders.

What store do you think I'll have the best luck? Sydney? Broadway? Or Bondi?

I'm only interested in the Apple store (at this stage), as I have a bunch of Apple vouchers from purchasing and returning the Apple Vision Pro with gift cards.

UPDATE: I woke up at 5.55am and there was stock for every model, colour and size available for an 8am pick-up at the Sydney store.

    They should have stock information on apple website tomorrow when it goes on sale.

        It was the lastest until today :)

        Then again he has vouchers to use, so why not get a new phone?

        On average, iPhone users replace their phones every three years. Myself, I am replacing my 4yo iPhone 12 mini with the 16 Pro. I can see this phone getting at least five years of service before considering another device.

        It's really only Android users who suggest people always buy the latest iPhone.

          I'm not even talking about iPhone users. Just anyone that lines up and buys these things day one, Samsung/iPhone/pixel whatever. Just more of a comment on consumerism.

      Apple products hold their value in LATAM and I can sell my iPhone for the same price I paid when factoring in TRS (but not including the cost paid for AppleCare+).

        its just amazing really… the gap is sooooooo big… some never have $5k in their bank ever, some spending $5k every week like nothing

          This is a great essay by Matt Barrie that mentions students from Colombia are our fourth highest now after China, India and Nepal. Also correlates with the increasing coke market in the country (correlation is not causation btw, just an interesting observation that warrants further investigation IMO).

    Can’t remember where I saw it, but the Pro Max was the biggest seller so far in the preordering

    Good luck. Usually the base models are easy to get as a walk up. Pro Max goes first, and they most likely won't have stock.

    I don’t think ordering in bulk has anything to do with it.
    at time of order if preorders were going to be in stock on release day you would have got what you ordered.

    you are thinking there is some kind of greedy person punishment for ordering in bulk? I don’t think so it’s just first come first served just like most things.

      I was thinking more along the lines of that I spent 5-minutes getting my order ready and the by adding my gift vouchers - the colour and size I wanted was sold out..

        ok yeah too slow I guess.

        I ordered iPhone 13 for mom on her phone (during covid?) I think this was the first iPhone which was reported to have stock shortages on release day.

        the Apple Store app would bug out at checkout stage multiple times because so many orders going through. I just kept going back to cart and tapping order button over and over and it eventually worked. managed to secure it for her on release day.

    How did you check the stock? Just online order on apple website?
