Recommendations on Sea Transfer in Fiji

First time going over to Fiji in December.

Staying in the mainland for few nights and then off to Tokoriki island. Looking at how to get to Tokoriki island from the mainland

Found South Sea Cruises but seems like it's $500 return for two people.

Are there any cheaper alternatives.

TIA

  • Looks like a few options to me.

    • We're not staying at that resort. Awkward asking them to take us to a competing resort

Have you spoken to the place that you’re staying in the island? I stayed on the same island and we either organised it through the Sheraton or a travel agent arranged it. I can’t remember the price but it definitely wasn’t close to $500.

I took a seaplane to an outer island resort. Money well spent and a great experience I may not ever do again.

    • Agreed. Plane arrived in Fiji late and we missed our Captain Cook cruise connection. CC rep organised a seaplane and we flew over and ahead of the boat, landing in an island lagoon and waited like beachcombers for the boat to cruise in and pick us up. An Indiana Jones adventure all paid for by travel insurance.

  • I think the South Sea Cruises one is the primary way people get between Denarau and the islands (pretty sure that's what we did a few years ago).

I can't remember the exact prices, but it certainly wasn't "cheap".

    • Yup currently $500 return for two ppl
