    Imaging change it to daddy…

      I need an adult.

    • +4

This daddy ain't no scrub and stays hard in hot and cold water

I don't get Scrub Mommy. The whole reason you get a Scrub Daddy is because you don't like sponges and how disgusting they get…

    • +2

6 for $20 scrub daddys at Aldi atm

    • +2

I find the sponge is better are removing grease/butter and cleaning glasses than the rough side. I also notice the sponge is longer lasting (less deterioration) than the rough side despite using the sponge side much more of the time.

    • Scrub daddy gets food gunk caught inside it. Absolutely revolting. Can't believe people actually use these for months.

      • First and last time for me

Are these just like a sliced pool noodle or is there something special in the material?

    • +3

Pool noodle is closed cell foam (floating). These sponges are open cell foam (hollow - dries out)

    • +1

When used with cold water it feels like a slice of hard pool noodle. But with warm water it gets soft and squishy, but still a little rough enough to scrub with.

  • Apart from price whats the difference between op's and the one in below link? This one is for $7.22

Yeh don't get scammed. Get scrub daddy.

Scrub mommy you're paying same price but half the sponge is useless

    • +1

The softer side is useful for non-stick pans

      • Yes the soft side is nothing special. Just buy a soft one from woolies for like $1

        • +1

I find the harder side to lack durability as well. Scrubbing my cast iron skillet with it tears it to shreds

    • I've found the sponge part to be useful, particularly if you're cleaning something with colder water because you also want the stiffer "daddy" side. I actually prefer the mommy to the daddy.

Calling it a scam is a big stretch; it's just another option.

the better deal is this no?

    6 x Scrub Mommy Essentials Dual-Sided Scrubber Sponge - Pink $13 (with OnePass) https://www.catch.com.au/product/6-x-scrub-mommy-essentials-…

  • +1

I've used these in the past (both Daddy and Mommy) for daily handwashing of basic dishes (maybe a pan or two) and they're excellent.

But they don't last - mine started disintegrating after weeks and were torn to shreds after a few months. So don't expect them to be anything more than light duty.

There are other materials that are a lot more durable and dont produce a micro plastic waste stream.

Have noticed this too and stopped buying them since…

    • +1

I tried them for the first time on the last sale. I agree, they don't look like they'll hold that much better than some of the other sponges.

    • Which ones are better? Any links please?

    • Agree on the not lasting part, pretty disappointing for their price.
Do you have any recommendation on a good sponge/scrub combo? The ones from coles/ww are bad at holding water/creating foam

    • They used to last for months before starting to deteriorate now it's only a few weeks. I think the ones in the multipack seem to last longer than the individually sold ones.

Could this name be considered sexist? Thinking from a woke perspective

    • Scrub daddy was the first product I believe so I don’t think it was their intention and they didn’t think about sexism while naming their products

      • +1

Lucky they didn't call it something like the Scag Rag

  • I bought the 6 pack from Catch 3 weeks ago, they are about half the thinkness of the regular ones.

    • You may have bought the Essentials range rather than this one

  • What was daddy getting up to that he needed to be scrubbed clean

  • If you're gonna get the mummy. Get the cat. Less prone to tearing from the smile/mouth section.
