The not-australian version you get from asian grocery stores taste much much better :D

My Asian dorm mate in college calls Maggi "white boy noodle".

      • +1

In my home country, this 2 of these packets alone was a full meal (without added proteins/ veges/ eggs etc.. ). In my previous office there was an old dude that used to have maggie cup noodle for his lunch for the entire 3 years I was working there… Somehow the fellow survived without issues >.<

Yeah, the Maggi Ayam (chicken) from Malaysia are way better. They ruined the Aus version many years ago. I think they lowered the salt content.
They probably all come out of the same factory but I only buy the Malaysian version now.

  • +14

I wish they did these packs for oriental flavour.

    • +1 It's the only good one. Chicken and beef are both yuck, and just imagine the wholegrain versions. Blech!

      • +3

My rankings go Oriental > Beef > Chicken

      • +2

When I was a kid I liked the Chicken and Corn flavour the best.
I don't think they even make that one anymore. I think there was even a Cheese flavour one at some point, it wasn't great.

        • +2

Oriental and Curry were the best from the big supermarkets but ethnics were lucky enough to be introduced to the world of a $7 box of Indomie Special Chicken and Curry Chicken from the mid 90s onwards.

Also all the lucky Asian kids with the silver Mama Tom yum shrimp packets raw for lunch.

        • I don't think marketing wants them back any time soon. It's a safe bet they're staying in the vault.

Ooo cheers! Perfect for old bland fuddy duddy eaters like me 😏😊

Two packs of noodles and two sausages with one fried egg. Dinner sorted!

    • +3

The secret is dropping the egg in after the noodles have cooked 🤌🤌🤌🤌

  • Does this price come up often?

  • -1

    Is this 30x5 packs

    • +5

      30 total, 5pk x6

  • Beef please and how long until we land?

  • +4

The Masala Maggie Noodle is probably the best flavour of the range. Only can find in Indian grocery stores.

    • +4

Have you tried the Indian Chicken Maggi? One of my friends brought it back when he visited India and the thing literally blew me away. The thing even had actual chicken bits in hit. I just don't understand why the Australian arm of Nestle does such treachery with us with this junk.

      • You can buy them at any Local Indian Grocery Store

        • Not the chicken one, usually.

      • +1

We get the shit version of products from the Australian subsidiary/franchise of many international food companies.

A few other examples that come to mind are:

        Curry and BBQ flavour Twisties
        Jalapeno Jack Links
        Maccas Curry Sauce for nuggets
        MOS burger (RIP)

        • And Milo and Marmite

          • -1

@didactw: Actually Australian Milo is considered to be superior to the other south east asian / international versions.

    • I found those in either Coles or Woolies once, they were great.

  • any deals on maggi seasoning sauce to make these actually palatable

  • Kids eat these for lunch every Saturday. Thanks op

Not as good as Nissin, but fast meal in a pinch (just add grated carrots/cucumber/spring onions and mince).

    • +2

      Cucumber?

      • +1

Something i learned up from the locals when i worked in Singapore before I came back to Australia. Mandolins/graters come in pretty handy.

  • +1

I used to eat the curry flavour from Singapore. I wonder if they still manufacture those

    • +2

Yes. But myojo is way better than Maggi for a couple of years now

  • +1

I get an error when try to order the chicken.

    • +3

Add to cart as a one-off purchase then go to cart, click on the save 10% S&S there and it changed the order to S&S correctly. Initially mine was giving the same error.

      • Ooo very clever, that worked fine.

    • Had the same issue, waited a while and retried. It just worked.

  • +1

Doesn't ship to my location… Despite the fact I've bought this exact listing before and sent it to my location… What a scam

    • +1

I've been having this issue with most of my usual purchases too like toilet paper and skincare products. Prime losing a lot of value with the ads and now limited shipping

      • +1

Yep I've noticed limited postage too but not on an item I've bought before. At least this post reminded me to cancel prime and get a refund this month

These are great, I eat them all the time as is. Good snack.

I tried other brands recommended here like Nongshim/Samyang but they honestly just tasted like ass and were way more expensive.

    • Try Indomie instead of those fancy expensive ones. 👍

      https://www.coles.com.au/product/indomie-fried-mi-goreng-sat…

The 5 pack is $1 cheaper than the normal priced Maggi and the flavour is soooo much better, it's like night and day imo. I recommend the Satay (brown packet) the most, it's only available at Coles I have found, but any of their flavours are good and Woollies also have some flavours too.

You won't regret it! Indomie is famous all over the world and for good reason. Best bang 4 buck noodle around 🤜💥🍜

      • I tried Indomie and ended up donating the rest as it was inedible to me.

As I said, I've tried others and for me at least, Maggi noodles are the best.

  • +5

I find white bread too spicy, but the Maggi beef noodles suit my sensitive digestive system. They even taste great dry. I know this from many nights making my matchstick models of Eastern European Castles.

  • +1

I will never forget the Thai flavoured ones with purple on the packet back in the late 90's. I've never come across that flavour in anything since. Chicken and corn and tomato were also good.

  • +1

Goes well cooked in hot coffee. Just the noodle.

  • If you can find the Kari Laksa flavour in your Asian grocery it's a lot better.

  • Thanks OP, mine arrived today. I ordered it on subscription for $13ish and then cancelled the subscription.

Thanks for the discounted discount Amazon!
